Cards For Mom {part 2}

My next set of cards for mom is fun and whimsical, very fitting of her personality! She absolutely adores her kitty cats or any animals for that matter. These are 4x4 and some what of a mix and match set.

Check out the cute little label on the back!

Cards For Mom {part 1}

Mother's Day really snuck up on me this year. We just celebrated Easter and enjoyed a well deserved Spring Break vacation. All of a sudden I find myself in my craft room preparing for Mother's Day. So what do you get the women that mean so much to you? Something made from the heart!

I decided to create handmade card sets. Here is the first one made from the Emporium papers. This set contains 6 cards with envelopes and can be stored in it's own little card holder. Perfect for grabbing a last minute card.

Here is the card that will accompany the gift, also done with Emporium papers.

Need more Mother's Day ideas? This is only part 1, check back soon for more projects I've created. Also, check out the Heart 2 Heart Blog for lovely artwork all about Mom this week!

Mayberry Workshop

A week from today I will be hosting a Mayberry Scrapbooking Workshop. A perfect workshop to hold in May which just happens to be National Scrapbooking Month. The pages are created from a Level 1 Kit. I used some of the How~To books for inspiration. They require no stamping and go together so quickly!

Are You Mad?

It's almost May and I've only completed one layout for my 2011 album! {whaaaat!?!} I must be mad... or maybe just too busy with other projects! I had this idea in my head for this layout ever since my daughter's Birthday party. The kids made these great Mad Hatter hats and I thought it would be fun to line them up for mug shots!! There are lots of fun elements throughout the pages, but I left plenty of white space for your eyes to rest.

Easter Goodies!

I was a busy little bunny yesterday preparing some yummy Easter goodies! The first are for Easter as well as my son's Birthday. He asks for dirt cake every year, but I've never made them with bunnies and chicks! Dirt cake is a wonderful mixture of pudding, whipped topping and crushed cookies.

I made a batch with chocolate pudding and oreos. There the ones with pink bunnies on top. {Oh, no!} Look what those bunnies left behind?

The other batch were made with banana cream pudding and crushed graham crackers. On top are cute little chicks and eggs!

There are some other surprises to be found down in the dirt!!

Next, a treat to share with family and friends. White chocolate popcorn with M&M candies. I found the recipe for this quick and simple treat at the Scissors & Spatulas Blog. It's really good and can be very addicting! I dressed up the bags with organdy ribbon and a bubble blowing bunny tag. How cute is that?

Card Club ~ Fabulous Flourishes

Perhaps you will remember my pink and black card boxes that my Card Club created in February. {See the post here.} This club meets every other month, so this month we created some cards to go inside their boxes. I taught a very simple, but effective way to create your own background paper. We used the Friendship flourish stamp set from February. They learned to rock-n-roll in complimentary colors and stamped a 6x12 sheet of white daisy card stock. They then cut that sheet into sections to complete 3 cards. Ladies chose between the colors of green, blue or pink!

Easter Pennant Mini Album

Hello, thanks for hopping by! My project today is a mini album for Easter. It does not contain photo's yet, but soon will! I designed it to look like a pennant. I used various B&T papers from Notebook, Sophia, Topstitch, and Wings paper collections. I stuck with one main stamp for the entire book which was March's stamp of the month, Sensational Season. I also have various ribbons, buttons, and sticker alphabet; all are CTMH. Hope you like it.

One final image of Spring for you. We discovered a little nest this weekend. Inside were three little fuzzy birds. Do you see the little face on the right?

Thank you H2H for hosting this event, great idea! Get more Spring ideas on the Heart 2 Heart Blog!

2 Challenges ~ One Post

I am inspired today by two different challenges, yet they very much have something in common. Here is the card that was created for both challenges~ What makes them similar? Well, over on Aaron's Blog she challenges us to get inspired by this photograph. {below} Sooo cute! While over on the Heart 2 Heart Blog we are challenged to recycle this week. How funny to me, because that's exactly what's happening in this photograph. If I had some old worn out rain boots, I would totally create planters with them. What a stylish way to recycle!! To begin my project, I have this 12x12 bag bulging at the seams with scraps of card stock as well as some B&T papers. I hate to throw anything away. I'm certain that I will get around to using it again.

Perfect! I find some scraps of brightly colored card stock similar to those in the photograph. I stamp a couple of rain boots on them.

After cutting them out I decided to make them appear shiny just like a real rain boot does. For this I press the boot directly on a versamark pad, sprinkle with clear embossing powder, and heat to a shiny appearance.

A few slick rain boots, just hangin' out!

You have to see miss Aarons cards over on her blog and check out the thrifty recyclers on the H2H blog also!

Thanks for stopping by!
