Year Noted in a Box

As I was cleaning up my craft room I couldn't help but notice how my Birchbox boxes were piling up! I like decorating them to hold sets of coordinating cards and just happened to need a gift for someone. Lately Birchbox has been mailing out some really cute boxes in a hue of colors and patterns rather than just the kraft brown. For this box I did not need to cover it at all, I simply added a little sentiment to cover the Birchbox name. The colors and pattern of the box reminded me of the older Year>>Noted promotional papers. I also incorporated some of the gold foil stickers that were included with the special and some sparkly twine that was from a card workshop.

Outside of the box

Inside of the box I included a coordinated pen and some gold foil stickers to seal the envelopes.

The box contained a total of six different cards. The designs were inspired by a couple of workshops in the Wishes book.

For all the sentiments I used this newer stamp set from the Seasonal Expressions 2 book called Finding the Words. A great stamp set that does have about any phrase you are looking for!

Grateful For You Card Set

It's been awhile since I played on Heart 2 Heart Challenges, but I could not resist sharing this lovely Fall themed card set. They capture the season beautifully and show gratitude which is the challenge on H2H!

I purchased the Laughing Lola papers in bulk with the intention to use them for Halloween. The purple was just so stunning and I thought it would be perfect for a Halloween theme. It turns out that it's great for Fall too! The file folder box to hold them all was created on the Cricut Artiste cartridge. Every card is different, but they all coordinate. I used a mix of several older stamp sets, some textured cardstocks and dollar ribbon.

Here are each of the cards~

Thank you for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the Heart 2 Heart design team artwork and remember to be grateful!

Mini Mystery Gifts 2012

Yesterday I posted all the wonderful cards from my Christmas card exchange held this past weekend. Not only do the ladies bring their lovely cards, but some also choose to participate in a Mini Mystery Gift exchange. They bring a small handmade gift in a plain brown sack which we then draw for. These items are just as amazing as their cards. You can see the gift we exchanged last year here.

For my project I wanted to showcase the fun gable box from the new Artiste Cricut cartridge.

Inside were some fun tags that I made from the Dimensional Elements In Color -Holiday chipboard, Pear and Partridge paper, cardstock and ribbons.

This is a little coffee container that has been recycled and covered with some felt including the beautiful flower embellishment. Inside were some peppermints!

This gal chose to make a set of cards. The most darling welded paper mitten cards! They were all together in a beautifully wrapped container. So cute and practical!

Homemade gift does not necessarily mean that it has to made of paper. One of the ladies is known for making these delicious peanut clusters. She wrapped them all together in this cute tree jar.

How about a handmade ornament? Two years ago our exchange was specifically handmade ornaments. You can see that post here.

This year a very talented lady brought two gorgeous ornaments with lots of fun details. I love the red and pinks with the snowflake center, but those blues and the leaping reindeer is so cute too!

Next post I will share just a few "goodies" that were made and the project we created!

Teacher Appreciation

This week is teacher appreciation and my daughter wanted to give a favorite teacher a special gift. She liked the Fry Box Card set that I created for my May Cricut Club {posted on Monday}, so I made another version. She gave it to her teacher earlier in the week and she said she loved it!

Again I used the Dotty For You papers, but this time I chose the butterfly pattern and tied it all together with the A Tree stamp set and a tag to let her know that both my daughter and I appreciate her.

May Cricut Club {an H2H challenge}

May Cricut Club and the Heart 2 Heart challenge this week are a perfect match! I am absolutely in love with this month's promotion "Dotty For You" paper kit. Last month we created a Dream Banner for our project and this month I've decided to use the Dotty papers again. We will be exploring another box that can be cut on the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge, the fry box! It will hold four cards that feature the lovely floral paper which happens to coordinate with the Card Word Puzzle stamp set, one of my favorites this season. I have also incorporated the fun Birthday sentiments from the Just a Number stamp set, also a favorite! This will be a great project to keep for yourself or give as a gift!

Each card with humorous sentiments inside~

Just a bit of glitter glitz finishes the flower perfectly~

Mystery Mini Gifts Revealed

At my Christmas Card Exchange we also held a Mystery Mini Gift Exchange. Participants created a hand made gift and brought it packaged in a plain brown bag. I attached a small puff ball in different colors to each bag and then we drew a matching puff ball from a bowl. Here is what some of the gifts were.

My dear friend Nanette makes her own fruit preserves. This year she made a triple berry preserve. Look how cute her little tag turned out and the preserves were delicious too!

Janet makes our tissues look so pretty!

Pat decorated this little box with some Believe papers. Wait 'til you see what's inside...

... Look at all those tiny tags!!!

29 tiny tags to be exact. She was having a good time playing with her Cricut AP cartridge.

I did not snap a picture, but my friend Tommie decorated a little box similar to Pat's and filled it with her "famous" peanut clusters!

Here is the project I made~

I created a set of cards called "A card A month". There were a total of 12 standard cards in the set, perfect for sending to that special someone each month for an entire year! Each one was made using the Pair-a-Phrase stamp set.

Here is a pic of all of them, but I will post each card individually later on.

Cards For Mom {part 1}

Mother's Day really snuck up on me this year. We just celebrated Easter and enjoyed a well deserved Spring Break vacation. All of a sudden I find myself in my craft room preparing for Mother's Day. So what do you get the women that mean so much to you? Something made from the heart!

I decided to create handmade card sets. Here is the first one made from the Emporium papers. This set contains 6 cards with envelopes and can be stored in it's own little card holder. Perfect for grabbing a last minute card.

Here is the card that will accompany the gift, also done with Emporium papers.

Need more Mother's Day ideas? This is only part 1, check back soon for more projects I've created. Also, check out the Heart 2 Heart Blog for lovely artwork all about Mom this week!
