I have a niece who celebrates her Birthday just days after Christmas. Her family is very careful to make her special day exciting and completely separate from Christmas. I made her a fun colorful album to record pictures of her awesome day! This year they went ice skating, how cool!!
To create this album I used some chipboard banner pieces upside down, then filled it to the brim with tons of colorful details!

Party Inspiration
From the moment I saw the inspiration photo for this week's challenge on Heart 2 Heart, I was thinking of a dozen ideas! It's a great photo and so many details to work with. From the scallops of fabric to the hot air balloons there were just so many directions to take my creativity. What I finally decided on was making a fun cake banner for my Husband's Birthday. He loved his carrot cake and the banner just made it extra special!
Take a look at the photo and what I came up with ~
All products are Close To My Heart. The colors I chose are Sky, Creme Brulee, Sweet Leaf, Cotton Candy and Lagoon. I hand cut the banner pieces and stamped them tone-on-tone with an argyle background basics stamp. I punched the circles for the "party" and stamped each letter with the Vintage Type alphabet stamp. It was all strung together with some white twine from the basics collection. To finish off my cake stand I tied a bow in front with the chocolate striped grosgrain ribbon.

Happy Birthday on H2H
This week's challenge on Heart 2 Heart blog is all about Birthdays. I probably create more birthday cards than any other type. My favorite birthday themed stamp in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book is the Party Pennants. It has fun pennant stamps of course, but it also has this great frame that can be filled with a variety of phrases. The little birdie is from another stamp set though. I used a mix of patterned papers from Splendor and Jingle. I also created my own patterned paper by stamping a thatched background onto the new green Pear cardstock. It is just fun and playful. I hope you will have some fun and play along with H2H this week.
