Haunted Escape in a Volkswagon!

Here is a fun Halloween card idea for you! I used one of the Pop-up cards on the Artfully Sent cartridge to create this card. Instead of using the Volkswagon bug on the inside of the card, I cut it out to create a Haunted scene on the front of the card. I stamped and colored the little characters and added a spring under the skull to make him more animated!

I love making Halloween cards fun and whimsical, it makes me think back to when I was a little girl! Go ahead, be silly with your cards and scrapbook pages this Halloween!

The Haunted Cabin

Halloween is almost here! I've shared so much spooky fun all month long! Yummy treat bags, Artfully Sent cards, adorable mini albums, witch hats and Scaredy Cat scrapbooking layouts!

Today I give you the grand finale!! My biggest Halloween project ever!!

This cabin was all cut on my Cricut Explore machine using a file from SVG Cuts. I used the older Moonlight papers from Close To My Heart which I absolutely love! The paper I chose for the roof even has a scalloped design that perfectly resembles roof tiles! There is so much detail and the finished product was well worth the 8 hours of work! Check out the smoking chimney!

Everything is spookier at night...the entire roof of this house opens up so you can insert a battery operated candle. The glow shines right through the vellum windows, how eerie!

Artfully Sent Halloween Cards

At my recent card exchange I did a quick tutorial with the Artfully Sent cartridge while the girls grabbed some delicious Fall food! We explored the Halloween cards in the book. Take a look at some of the cards I had on display.

This was the very first Halloween card that I wanted to create from the cartridge. I just love how detailed the house is and that it is the front of the card. It was incredibly easy to create from start to finish and looks like you spent a good bit of time on it!

This is a swing card that was also easy to create. It can be left simple and be completed quickly, however I did a little fussy cutting to add some cardstock and a zip strip to the front. I simply added a stamped tag, ribbon, button and arrow Washi tape!

Halloween Already?!?!

My son's brand new backpack tore after only 2 weeks of school! Either his books are entirely too heavy or they don't make backpacks very well! So I set out this weekend to buy him a new one. In the various stores where once all of the back to school items were arranged, now display Halloween candy and decor. Being the Halloween fan that I am, I nearly forgot that I was there for a backpack!

The decorations are fabulously spooky and the smells of pumpkins, chocolate and caramel fill the air. I've already begun creating some fun Halloween projects with new Close To My Heart products. I can't show them all yet, but here is a card I made using some new papers with an unexpected NON~Halloween stamp set!! {can you name it?}

Frightful Fridays!!

Boo! It's Friday! Not just any Friday though, it's a Frightful Friday! Every Friday in October I will post a card or project with a Halloween theme. Don't be scared. Only some projects will be spooky, but others will be sweet!

Here is the first project, a Frightful Friday Frame. One of my customers shared this project idea with me and even gave me the frame. These frames can be found in the dollar store and come in various colors. This one was actually silver, but I painted it black to make it more haunted!! My favorite element to this frame is that it's 3D. Some items were stamped on the base paper under the glass, while other images are popped off the frame. The ribbon is simply tied around the frame piece. Very spooky, I can't wait to capture the perfect photo of my Trick~or~Treaters!
