Yellow Makes Me Smile :)

 The color  yellow just makes me happy! One of my favorite and often used colors was Creme Brulee. As some of you may know this color has been retired and replaced with another yellow called Canary. As sad as I was to see Creme Brulee leave, I assure you that the new Canary color is lovely and may get just as much love!

I decided to use up some of the cardstock I had, along with some other papers that I have been hoarding. This layout was inspired by one featured in the Dream Pop promotion awhile ago.

Freshly Made Holly Jolly Christmas Card

I got to play with a newer stamp set from the Frosted card making kit and some older Dream Pop papers for this card today! I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and a bright color combination inspired by the wrapping paper on the gift that would accompany the card. {sorry I didn't think to take a picture of the wrapped package} I love the cheerful colors and the bell really jingles!!

Artbooking Mini Baby Album

I am in love with the mini albums that you can create on the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge. My latest piece of art is for my niece and nephew expecting their second child, a little boy! My inspiration for the book came directly from the baby shower announcement.

I loved the grey chevron pattern, white chalky writing and the blue bow. That was my inspiration and color base for the mini album.

All of the pages and most of the embellishments all came from the same mini book keys. However, there were a few items that were on the scrapbooking layout key and that darling bow comes from the Artiste cartridge. The book has five pages and an envelope for little keepsakes.

Do you remember this chevron paper with the shiny embossing? It's from the Dream Pop paper kit which I just happened to have a little bit leftover! Perfect match to the invitation!

I love pages with pockets! They are great for tucking in tags, extra photo's or memorabilia!

These tags will be handy for recording all the important information about the little guy!

Not only does the page cut out the edge with the 'baby' sentiment, but there are also keys with adorable photo mats!

This little envelope cuts out on the cricut, then you simply fold it and adhere it together. It will be perfect for keeping the hospital bracelet band or perhaps the strands of his first haircut.

More pockets! These will keep some family photo's. Don't you just love that layover piece!

Finally the last page with some fun stamped sentiments and some more of those cool layover pieces.

I hope this mini album inspires you to try one for yourself. {no new babies on the way? this album would be adorable for a new pet in your family too!}

Come back soon as I will be showing you my Halloween mini album. The ladies are creating this spooky mini book this Saturday. I promise it will be frightfully fun!

Frosted Card Kit

I shared the Laughing Lola Workshop on the Go Card Kit with you earlier. We talked about the great value of these kits and how easy it is to create 15 beautiful handmade cards. I don't know about you, but I make the most cards in the littlest amount of time for the Holidays. Trying to beat the deadline of sending all those Christmas cards is always a challenge. With the Frosted Card Kit it will be easy and quick!

I'm not going to show all the cards with variations like I did with the Laughing Lola cards. Instead I want to show you how easily you can use the stamp set included in the kit to create completely different Holiday cards. Think outside of the brochure!!

These are the cards as instructed in the brochure~

Here are a few ideas using that stamp set with different colors and papers.~

You will notice some fun stamping techniques and recognize some papers that are not "holiday" themed. That's part of the fun! My card designs all came from the new Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 book. (this book is awesome and a must have!)

You can order the Laughing Lola and Frosted Card Kits with me or online here. Experience the fun of creating these cards and the value of the kits!

Sweet Giraffe

I am still using up some of the beautiful Dream Pop papers! I love the bright, happy colors available in this paper pack. I have used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and created this darling Giraffe with the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge available in just 4 more days!! Notice the "sweet" banner also cut on this cartridge. That is just the beginning of the fun sentiments found on this new cartridge!

Many Thanks

Recently I mailed off a big box of cards for donation to the troops serving our country. The organization was in need of Thank You cards and Thinking of You cards. Here are just a few I did for them.

Hello Again H2H!

I told you in a previous post that I had some exciting news from Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog! I was asked to join them this month as a Guest Designer! I was excited to get started with this month's first challenge with a tropical theme. Do you like Pina Colada's?

{Photo out for publication}

If you have Pina Colada's then it must be a party!! I immediately thought of a BBQ/Luau with this theme! Invite your friends, have a welcoming gift ready for them, and don't forget to decorate the table!

After dinner mints or a scented tea light candle would nestle perfectly into this tropical goodie box! All the cuts are made on the Cricut Artiste cartridge. I added some chevron stamping, folded it up and added the top flower layers. So easy!

{Photo out for publication}

Tropical flowers on the straws make them fun and festive. Just a bit of twine around a napkin and cutlery dresses them up well!

Be sure to stop by Heart 2 Heart challenges blog to see what the designers have created and play along!!

Inspired By Summer

This past weekend I hosted my Summer Card Exchange. Participants were asked to create cards with a summer theme. I ask that they use as much Close To My Heart product as possible. This time I also threw in another challenge for them to create a card with a minimum of 6 layers.

There was a fun variety ranging from beach babes to pinwheels, a splash of bright colors to a patriotic theme. I also had hungry frogs and blue ribbon cows! They are all very creative. I hope you are inspired by our artwork!

This first card is my own. I wanted to use bright colors for my beach gal. No color is happier or brighter than yellow and the Dream Pop papers were perfect! I also used some glitter paper & buttons to kick it up one more level!

Sassy Beach Babe by Janet~

I also had a sweet summer project for anyone that wanted to play after the exchange. I posted a sneak peek of it earlier this week. A fun little gift idea using the new small paper pouches and Dream Pop paper. A creative way to share some summer with a pouch of watermelon seeds!

Dream Pop Mother's Day & Top Chick!

I told you I've been getting some scrapbooking done this month for National Scrapbooking! I'm practically ahead of the game considering we just celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday and I already have my pictures scrapped! I used a pattern from the Make It from Your Heart book and several different papers from the Dream Pop kit. I also stamped some fun and whimsical images & sentiments, because our photo session that day was a little bit silly!

So many fun details in this layout. The Mother's Day title was cut on the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I simply just cut off the "happy" portion at the top. I used some twine, bitty sparkles and even stamped some faux washi tape with a background stamp.

This morning while checking my emails, I received some awesome news! I had some artwork selected in the Top Ten on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. In additions to that, I was chosen as the Top Chick for the month of April!!! Woo Hoo!!! There is more exciting news, but I can't tell you yet!
You can see the winning entries here.

Lastly, I will leave you with a sneak peek at the "summer~time" project we will be creating this Saturday at my Summer Card Exchange. I will post the full project and the Summer themed cards for you here soon!

Dream Pop is Going to the Birds!

I have been doing some scrapbooking recently for National Scrapbooking Month, but I had some time to create some cards too! I was playing with all the different colors and patterns in the Dream Pop paper packet. Mixing and matching them all has been a ton of fun and adding the little birds made them super cute!

I used various stamps with little bird images. Some of them are a couple years old! The strips of sentiments were actually taken directly from the zip strip on one of the patterned papers in the pack.

Look at all these yummy colors and patterns! Dream Pop is only available until May 31st! Get yours soon, order here or contact me personally!

Don't these colors inspire you for Summer? My Summer Card Exchange is this Saturday, I will post all the incredible creations for you soon!
