Grateful for... Everyday Goodness (two cards, one sketch)

Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches. I love to see the sketches and what the talented artists will create. I finally had some time to play along. I was able to create two cards, because I just had to see if my ideas would turn out like I visioned.

This first card uses some Documented papers and a section of one of the Picture My Life cards in the collection. If you look closely you will see a new watercolor impressions stamp in the background, a new stitching stamp, and a little zip strip from a new paper collection releasing in September.

I also had to create a fall themed card, because I liked one of the design team member, Amy O'Neill's card so much. (Please visit the FMS blog to see all the designers cards!) These fall papers and chipboard leaf complement come from a new collection in the Holiday Expressions Idea Book available in just 1 week! Again I used that watercolor impressions stamp to add some texture in the background and just a bit of thread. On the inside of the card is a little, tiny "you".

I hope you will check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and be sure to come back here soon. I will have more updates on that new book and have lots of projects to share using the new products!

Grateful for FMS

Ugh! What a busy week I had last week! I am glad, or should I say grateful, to finally get to relax and even make a little time for crafting. Freshly Made Sketches is always a great inspiration for jumping right back into my creativity. The sketch this week was simple with a block pattern allowing me to play with several colors and patterns of the Sangria paper collection. I love what an elegant, yet fun collection Sangria is. I also love how well it lends itself to some gold glitter, because Fall screams gold glitter!

Birthday Bash with Zoe and Mojo Monday

Hello, Happy Hump~Day!! Today I'm having a Birthday Bash with the new Zoe papers and complements. It's for the challenge this week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog! The papers are so colorful and fun, they are perfect to use for a Birthday celebration. I am also using the sketch from Mojo Monday this week to guide my creation.

I did two versions using the different papers from the packet. You can see how one is a little more masculine and the second can I feel is very versatile for anyone!

I love the triangle paper, triangle embellishments and that coral shimmer tape is so cool!

The circular star on this card came directly from the Zoe Complements sticker sheet. Don't you just love the glitter in these triangles!

All of the products I used are available to order now!

Be sure to check out Mojo Monday for other ideas using this sketch. Also, stop by Heart 2 Heart Challenges to join in on the Birthday Bash!!

When Life Gives You Lemons!

This Taste of Summer tag sums up how I've been feeling lately. My long absence will tell you that I have been extremely busy. With all of the challenges, tasks and decisions that have presented themselves to me lately, I remain positive......and make lemon bars!

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches to make this colorfully sweet tag. I love the bright purple with green and pop of lemon yellow. With the Taste of Summer papers you can't help but be cheerful when your creating!

Taste of Summer paper collection and special stamp set are only available this month. You can order online here!

Thank you for visiting. Come back soon as I will reveal some of the projects that I've been working on!

You are...

One of the stamp sets from the Seasonal Expression 2 book has been getting lots of attention in my craft room this week. It's called Shower Flowers. (C1612) The flowers are fun to ink up and create little clusters with. I wanted to try a little different color scheme with them other than what was shown in the idea book. I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week and a variety of some cardstocks with some Snowhaven papers.

The sentiment is from the stamp set included in the Blossoms Cardmaking WOTG kit. You'll see more of that kit in my next post!

Lollydoodle Camper

I have another camper for you today! The Camper Crazy stamp set is just so cute that I can't put it away yet! Today I've used it with the darling Lollydoodle paper and added some paper piecing on the camper. I have also used the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches to put the cute camper front & center!

Happy Camper!

I was a Happy Girl yesterday when some new items from the Spring 2014 Idea Book arrived at my home! I am really thrilled with several new products, tools and the gorgeous papers from this new book premiering February 1st. Many of the new stamp sets are also on my list, but I only ordered one for this order. I just love the new Camper Crazy stamp set. It has the cutest campers and adorable sayings like, "RV there yet?".

I started creating right away with it using the clever sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week. Oddly I did not choose any new papers for my card though. Instead I reached for a cute mini paper stack that my sister gave me for Christmas called Quilting Bee by My Mind's Eye.

If you want to see the other images and sayings on this stamp set you will need to get the new Idea Book, come to my Open House or wait to see it online February 1st. I will most likely be stamping with it lots more, so visit my Blog again soon!

I didn't forget your Birthday! {for my sweet niece, Mad Dog!}

I'm trying a new technique today using Washi tape and my Cricut machine. This is for the "new" challenge on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. I have incorporated this easy idea on the Freshly Made Sketch this week.

I used some Chantilly papers as my base and added in more color with greens, blues and pink. Instead of a square element as in the sketch I chose to do a scalloped circle from the Perfect Fit Frames. What I really want to point out is the number "9". It may look like paper in the photograph, but it is actually Washi tape that has been adhered to a chipboard number.

This is an easy and fun technique to try! Using a spare piece of white daisy cardstock, I taped strips of this darling pink polka dot Washi tape being sure to line up the spots. Depending on the shape and size you want to cut out will determine how long and how wide your strips of Washi tape will be.

I was simply cutting a number nine on the Art Philosophy cartridge to the determined sizing according to the chipboard package label. I loaded my cutting mat and made sure that my cutting blade was on the Washi tape surface. I set my key, size of 1 1/2" and pressed cut. It cut out the "9" perfectly. I simply peeled it from the cutting mat and adhered it to the chipboard with some liquid glue.

You can use this technique for alphabet letters to create a title, a bracket shape for a mini album, or mix and match different colors and patterns of Washi tape before cutting it out. It's a great "new" technique and the possibilities are endless!

My Favorite

Switching gears from Christmas for just a bit! When I originally saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week, I was convinced that I would create a Christmas themed card. However, I went in a completely different direction once I sat down in my craft room. Instead my card has some lovely muted tones of greys, purples, greens and teal. Can you guess what papers I used to create the banner pieces? They are actually scraps from the My Crush Bluebird assortment. That's right, they don't have to be used for just the Crush book! They work great on cards, scrapbooks or mini albums!

Fall Huntington Cards

I just love the Huntington paper pack! It has such warm, rich colors and lovely patterns making it such an elegant paper. It's the perfect paper for capturing fall memories in a scrapbook or to create lovely cards which is what I did here.

This first card was created using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

I used some glitter paper which complimented the glitter edged leaves perfectly! Some natural hemp and an antique button were the perfect finishing touch!

I used the same glitter leaves in all the cards and incorporated other fun embellishments such as ribbon, twine, buttons, and burlap.

FMS Peace and Joy Snowflake

I'm skipping from Fall to Winter today with a lovely card for Freshly Made Sketches. The new Frosted papers don't scream traditional red & green Christmas, but they are perfect for winter cards and projects. With this card I have captured the calm, cool season with some "frosted" blues and neutrals. The Rosewood mini medley accent in the center of the snowflake is gorgeous and adds an elegant touch to the card. I think that the FMS sketch was the perfect base to showcase that wreath and snowflake!

Celebrating the Little Things

I have combined some Buzz and Bumble papers with the new Sarita papers for the sketch this week on Freshly Made Sketches. I have also been patiently waiting to play with the new irresistibles hexagons chipboard. These are so cool and easy to add to just about any project!

Perfect Wonderful You

My card was designed today specifically for Freshly Made Sketches. It is their 100th sketch challenge and it's a fun design.

I have used some unexpected items to decorate my card. Do the images look like a new paper packet or stamp set? If you said no then your right! They are actually pieces found in the assortment collections for the new My Crush spiral bound memory book. Similar to a Smash Book these new albums are perfect for recording your day to day memories. You can add small photo's, write little journaling notes or adhere keepsakes like tickets to the movies. However, the assortment pieces don't have to be used in the My Crush book. As you can see they work perfectly on a card or on a scrapbook page.

I chose the Bluebird assortment pieces for my card. There is a Memories assortment and a Favorites Assortment. Each come with 16 journal spots, 4 My Stickease sheets, 2 alphabet sticker sheets and 4 mini envelopes. I used one of the little envelopes to hide a sweet message!

There are two different My Crush books. Bluebird, like I have used and Modville. They can be found in the new Idea Book on pages 63-67. There are also coordinating stamp set that you can use with them. You can order your own book here and start collecting your memories at home or even on the go!

You're a Star {FMS}

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today and playing with a new stamp set! I have been dying to try this cute little notebook paper stamp included in the Artbooking Cricut collection. I added it to my card as a little note of inspiration for the kiddo's heading back to school soon!

I used some older Rockin' papers and added some embellishments like the canvas "remember" sentiment from the Typeset collection and some Heidi Swapp color shine stars. Both the notebook pages and the border at the bottom were cut on the Cricut with the Artbooking cartridge.

You can order the new Artbooking collection here. I will have several more projects using this cartridge throughout the month, check back soon!

Sweet Giraffe

I am still using up some of the beautiful Dream Pop papers! I love the bright, happy colors available in this paper pack. I have used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and created this darling Giraffe with the new Cricut Artbooking cartridge available in just 4 more days!! Notice the "sweet" banner also cut on this cartridge. That is just the beginning of the fun sentiments found on this new cartridge!

Country Sketch

The Paper Players has an interesting sketch this week. I decided to use the Country Born stamp set and some older Elemental papers. The finished card makes me really happy...maybe it's the colors or the sweet country images.

The City is exciting, but Life is Good in the Country!

Wherever I'm With You

I love the sentiment on this card! I used the sketch over on Mojo Monday which had lots of different layers to play with. I was able to split up the words in the sentiment with a banner as shown in the sketch. The color combination came from the Paper Players Blog. {CTMH colors are Sky, Smoothie, Crème Brulee and Cocoa}
