June's Back 2 Basics pages are fun, bright and so summery! I've created some cute banners out of patterned paper and ribbon. It's difficult to see but the blue card stock is pierced around the outer edges to create faux stitching. These pages will be the perfect compliment to summertime photo's whether it's splashing in the pool or having a picnic!

Cherries & Blueberries
I hosted a Cherry-O Workshop yesterday. The projects in this kit are so much fun! Here are some pics of the projects and kit contents. And don't forget the "bowl" of cherries which are perfectly in season right now, YUM!! You can see the workshop flyer here.
I love when all the fresh summer berries are in season. Here is one of my favorite breakfast pastries with a new twist. I found the recipe in a Kraft magazine years ago which requires the simplest ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 package of crescent rolls
cream cheese (I use the 1/3 less fat)
sugar (I use Splenda)
fresh blueberries
The surprise new twist this time was a tablespoon of Pampered Chef Lemon Sprinkle instead of one tablespoon of sugar. It was so yummy, what a great way to start the morning!
Speaking of recipes... I have a fabulous workshop coming in August for the new Close To My Heart Recipe Box. Here's a peek!

Splendor-ific!!
It's not very often that I go through an entire Level 2 paper pack. I'll usually have some full sheets of paper or larger scraps leftover. In the case of the Splendor papers I have barely a few smaller scraps leftover and a sheet of card stock. I guess I really liked this paper pack.
I cleaned up and re-organized my craft room this week. Now that everything is in it's proper place, I'm ready to make a new mess! I have been working on some pages in hopes of getting caught up over the summer break. Here is a layout of my daughter's final days of school.

It's a 2 for 1!
My last post showed you just one of the pages that I created for the H2H sketch challenge last week. Well this week the challenge is anything "scrappy" so here is the second page with it. I liked how they turned out and feel that they really capture the fun we had that day!
**Keep scrolling down for another layout I completed this week!

Zoom Sketch!
I'm zooming by to play along with the challenge this week on Heart 2 Heart. {too late to submit my art, but I still wanted to create something} I thought the sketch was really cool, but I especially liked the page that Tracey came up with. I flipped the idea, but kept the stitching which was my favorite detail. The pic was taken at my sons recent birthday bash in an indoor go kart track. So much fun!! Can you believe that these cars will do 45 mph. Totally, it was pretty awesome... the hubby is already asking to go back for Father's Day...Boys!!!

School's Out!!
As of this afternoon... school is out for summer!!! Before we departed we needed to say our "Thanks" and show some gratitude.
This first project was for a friend and customer. She is new to scrapbooking and wanted to make something creative for her sons teachers. She likes the recycled crystal light containers so we whipped these up in less than an hour. She did most of the work and was really happy with the results.
Here are a few gift bags filled with goodies for my daughter's teachers. I used the same apple stamp again on brown bags. I created little tags and tied the colorful tissue paper together with twine.

And of course, you can't forget the SWEETS!!! I just had to bring something fun for the kiddo's! I like to go surfing on the web for ideas, but sometimes I just have to work with what I can find in my small town store!! I originally wanted blue jello and gummy sharks, but we improvised with assorted flavors of sugar-free jello and gummy octopus. To get the ocean effect I swirled some blue food coloring in cool whip and topped each little cup. I used graham cracker crumbs for a mini island and the octopus are chill~laxing in the shade of the umbrella! They were a hit!
