One more graduation card for you today! Like the last post, it is not a typical graduation card. It was created specifically for the Grad! I chose the soft, feminine Clementine papers and the lovely horse image from the Country Born stamp set. I thought the addition of natural twine was fun and did not take away from the pretty paper or beautiful stamped image.

Buzzing with Best Wishes Grad!
I have never created so many graduation cards until this year! I suppose it's because my own kids are close to graduation and all of their friends are too! Also, many of my friends all had children around the same time as me!! Regardless the reason, I have lots of creating to do.
My card today features the lovely Buzz & Bumble papers and embellishments. I am submitting this card for a couple of challenges. The first challenge uses the sketch this week on The Paper Players. I love the graphic blocks of patterned paper and that scroll feature!
The second challenge is for Heart 2 Heart. Their Nip & Tuck theme this week challenges us to use real or faux stitching. I chose faux, because I love how quick and easy the technique. It gives the project the same effect as real stitching without the extra work of dragging a sewing machine out of the closet!
This is certainly not a "typical" graduation card, but neither is the recipient! I wanted a gorgeous, classy card, because the young lady receiving is just that!

Creature Feature
Today's card features a creature for the challenge on Heart 2 Heart this week. My creature is a wise owl with a graduation congratulations. I've used some older papers with a "school" theme as well as some stamps & embellishments perfect for the occasion.

Grillin' & Chillin'
Today I am playing along with The Paper Players in their Masculine card challenge. I decided to go with a grilling theme. It's that time of year when we love going outdoors to grill up some amazing food and enjoy the fresh air. If I buy the meat and veggies, I know I can get the Grill Master to cook it!
I wanted my card to look like polaroid snap shots of the Grill Master's tools. A simple background of cool blue to display the pictures that were attached with some washi tape!

Blue Baby Buggy
Playing along with Dynamic Duos challenge today! It's a Blue and Black duo. I chose Close To My Heart's Pacifica blue color and some black and white patterned papers from Teresa Collins. The challenge also had a dessert option of a kid theme. I just so happened to need a baby shower card and let's face it babies all grow up to be kids!! {tee-hee}

Inspired By Summer
This past weekend I hosted my Summer Card Exchange. Participants were asked to create cards with a summer theme. I ask that they use as much Close To My Heart product as possible. This time I also threw in another challenge for them to create a card with a minimum of 6 layers.
There was a fun variety ranging from beach babes to pinwheels, a splash of bright colors to a patriotic theme. I also had hungry frogs and blue ribbon cows! They are all very creative. I hope you are inspired by our artwork!

I also had a sweet summer project for anyone that wanted to play after the exchange. I posted a sneak peek of it earlier this week. A fun little gift idea using the new small paper pouches and Dream Pop paper. A creative way to share some summer with a pouch of watermelon seeds!

This first card is my own. I wanted to use bright colors for my beach gal. No color is happier or brighter than yellow and the Dream Pop papers were perfect! I also used some glitter paper & buttons to kick it up one more level!

Hello {flowers and sketch 86}
My card today features some colorful irresistibles chipboard blooms for the May flowers challenge on Heart 2 Heart this week. I inked the flowers in Honey and Cotton Candy. The leaves were inked in Pear green. I have also incorporated the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I liked how the colorful flowers popped off the Whisper grey chevron pattern. Clean and simple, but certainly not boring!

Dream Pop Mother's Day & Top Chick!
I told you I've been getting some scrapbooking done this month for National Scrapbooking! I'm practically ahead of the game considering we just celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday and I already have my pictures scrapped! I used a pattern from the Make It from Your Heart book and several different papers from the Dream Pop kit. I also stamped some fun and whimsical images & sentiments, because our photo session that day was a little bit silly!
So many fun details in this layout. The Mother's Day title was cut on the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I simply just cut off the "happy" portion at the top. I used some twine, bitty sparkles and even stamped some faux washi tape with a background stamp.
This morning while checking my emails, I received some awesome news! I had some artwork selected in the Top Ten on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. In additions to that, I was chosen as the Top Chick for the month of April!!! Woo Hoo!!! There is more exciting news, but I can't tell you yet!
You can see the winning entries here.
Lastly, I will leave you with a sneak peek at the "summer~time" project we will be creating this Saturday at my Summer Card Exchange. I will post the full project and the Summer themed cards for you here soon!

Dream Pop is Going to the Birds!
I have been doing some scrapbooking recently for National Scrapbooking Month, but I had some time to create some cards too! I was playing with all the different colors and patterns in the Dream Pop paper packet. Mixing and matching them all has been a ton of fun and adding the little birds made them super cute!
I used various stamps with little bird images. Some of them are a couple years old! The strips of sentiments were actually taken directly from the zip strip on one of the patterned papers in the pack.
Look at all these yummy colors and patterns! Dream Pop is only available until May 31st! Get yours soon, order here or contact me personally!
Don't these colors inspire you for Summer? My Summer Card Exchange is this Saturday, I will post all the incredible creations for you soon!

For Mom
So many things happening this month and week! I have mentioned all month long that it's National Scrapbooking Month and in yesterday's post I also talked about celebrating National Bicycling Month. This week also celebrates Teachers and Nurses. Plus, this Sunday is Mother's Day! At the florist shop we are in high speed filling orders and to add to the chaos our high school is holding Senior Prom Saturday night! {Oh my!}
It's a good thing I created my Mother's Day cards last month!! I am sharing these cards with The Paper Players challenge this week that focuses on Mom! I was inspired by a tutorial from Betsy Veldman on a water color embossing technique. It creates such a beautiful image and it's a lot of fun to do! You can find a tutorial video on the technique here. I was able to use all Close To My Heart stamps, re-inker's and embossing powders to re-create this project.

H2H ~ National Scrapbooking Month
This past Saturday was National Scrapbooking Day. I had my photo's printed, but did not get these pages fully completed until yesterday. I had great intentions to do it all on Saturday, but this month is also National Bicycling Month so I was celebrating with family! Both scrapbooking and biking are passions of mine. That's why I am sharing this layout with Heart 2 Heart challenges who is celebrating their favorite scrapbooking pages all month long.
This layout uses the awesome Later Sk8r papers and embellishments. I added in the purple cardstock because of the colors in the photo's. I thought it tied everything together well!

Every Mile a Memory ~ Thanks
Another thank you card for you today using the sketch this time at Freshly Made Sketches! This time I've combined the graphic black & white chevron from the For Always papers with just a bit of Dream Pop shimmer cardstock. You may think this is such a strange "thank you" card, but it was for my son's recent Birthday in which he received some gas money!

You're the Best~Thanks
Using the sketch at The Paper Players this week I created this fun Thank You card. I flipped the sketch to fit the award ribbon image I wanted to use. The ribbon tails are created with some of the fabulous Dream Pop shimmer cardstocks.
I have tried to capture the shimmer in these cardstock sheets. Each color comes with a different pattern like dots, chevron, wood grain, etc. When the light shines on them you can see these patterns shimmer with an embossed finish. They are really cool!

Dream Pop Golf!
Happy National Scrapbooking month everyone! May is the month to focus on getting some scrapbooking done. This month's Dream Pop collection will definitely give you inspiration to get your precious photo's in your scrapbook.
You can get more details about the promotion by clicking on the Current Specials tab at the top.
I would also like to give you inspiration this month here on my blog. To kick it off I have a single page layout from my daughter's golf tournament. It really shows the blue and gray options that are in this packet. I am also entering my layout in Heart 2 Heart's "Tuck it in" challenge this week. Not only have I incorporated some photo's on my banner, but I have a little envelope with some journaling "tucked" inside.
The entire base of this page is simply one of the sheets of printed cardstock included in the Dream Pop collection. All I did was string some twine and hang some pictures and fun accents. The little envelope pocket was cut on the Cricut Artiste cartridge at 2 1/2 inches. I just covered it with some of the cardstock in the kit and added some fun images from the Cricut Kudo's stamp set.
I hope you will take advantage of this fabulous Dream Pop kit this month. Look for more ideas and inspiration here on my blog all month long!
