Unique Mom's

The entire month of May is National Scrapbooking Month and Close To My Heart is celebrating with the Happy Times paper collection. I'm really trying to celebrate this month and get caught up on my own scrapbook pages. I was able to use these pretty new papers for a layout to showcase a few beautiful photographs taken on Mother's Day.

We celebrated Mother's Day at my Sister-in-Law's home this year. My In-Law's have a large family and we branch off in many directions, making a big photo like this very special. I can say that each of us are truly unique and lucky to have each other to learn this tough, but rewarding job of being mom's.

The Happy Times floral paper really complimented the pictures especially as we were all holding roses. I also like the soft colors against the black background with the pops of gold paper and bling. The "Unique" PML card is actually from the Florence papers and the card with gold hearts is one of the new watercolor PML cards.

Be sure to get this paper collection before its no longer available. Shop online here.

Happy Times for Mom

I'm so glad that the Happy Times papers arrived before Mother's Day. I knew right away that they would work perfectly for Mother's Day cards! I loved the floral prints and gold paper, but found that with the different patterns each card was unique. Take a look~

Remember you can get the Happy Times paper collection for free with a $60 purchase this month only!

Now go spoil your Mom's!

Freshly Made for Mom

I was working on a gift for my Mom earlier this week and needed a card to go with it. I chose to use the Ariana papers so that it would match her handmade gift which features the same gorgeous paper collection. I was also inspired to use the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for it.

I love this sentiment, "Laugh until your heart overflows"! This was taken from the "zip strip" that is attached to the top of the 12x12 B&T paper. It's a beautiful sentiment and so easy to add to my project!

On the inside~

I used the rest of that zip strip to embellish the inside. It just makes it a bit dressed up!

Dream Pop Mother's Day & Top Chick!

I told you I've been getting some scrapbooking done this month for National Scrapbooking! I'm practically ahead of the game considering we just celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday and I already have my pictures scrapped! I used a pattern from the Make It from Your Heart book and several different papers from the Dream Pop kit. I also stamped some fun and whimsical images & sentiments, because our photo session that day was a little bit silly!

So many fun details in this layout. The Mother's Day title was cut on the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I simply just cut off the "happy" portion at the top. I used some twine, bitty sparkles and even stamped some faux washi tape with a background stamp.

This morning while checking my emails, I received some awesome news! I had some artwork selected in the Top Ten on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. In additions to that, I was chosen as the Top Chick for the month of April!!! Woo Hoo!!! There is more exciting news, but I can't tell you yet!
You can see the winning entries here.

Lastly, I will leave you with a sneak peek at the "summer~time" project we will be creating this Saturday at my Summer Card Exchange. I will post the full project and the Summer themed cards for you here soon!

For Mom

So many things happening this month and week! I have mentioned all month long that it's National Scrapbooking Month and in yesterday's post I also talked about celebrating National Bicycling Month. This week also celebrates Teachers and Nurses. Plus, this Sunday is Mother's Day! At the florist shop we are in high speed filling orders and to add to the chaos our high school is holding Senior Prom Saturday night!  {Oh my!}

It's a good thing I created my Mother's Day cards last month!! I am sharing these cards with The Paper Players challenge this week that focuses on Mom! I was inspired by a tutorial from Betsy Veldman on a water color embossing technique. It creates such a beautiful image and it's a lot of fun to do! You can find a tutorial video on the technique here. I was able to use all Close To My Heart stamps, re-inker's and embossing powders to re-create this project.

Clean and Country

I finally got the Country Born {D1543} stamp set inked up! This stamp set will be perfect for a couple of people I know! I used the clean and simple sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The gingham orange ribbon felt like a great match to the country inspired Mother's Day card!

Lucy meets Dotty {at the H2H sketch party}

It's a sketch challenge on Heart 2 Heart blog this week. I decided to combine some of the gorgeous Lucy papers with the Dotty papers for this lovely Mother's Day card. I also used some bright, fun floral's and popped some Topiary green ribbon in there!

Cards For Mom {part 3}

The final set of cards for Mom! This set was made using a kit that was offered a few years ago called Just Because. For the most part I followed the instructional guide, but a couple of the cards had my own creative twist on them. Here is the sturdy box they are stored in along with the personal card for Mom. It uses similar colors and some Stickease for the flower.

I believe there are a total of 14 cards all together.

Here is a close up of just a few~

Cards For Mom {part 2}

My next set of cards for mom is fun and whimsical, very fitting of her personality! She absolutely adores her kitty cats or any animals for that matter. These are 4x4 and some what of a mix and match set.

Check out the cute little label on the back!

Part 3 coming soon, and it's a doosie!

Cards For Mom {part 1}

Mother's Day really snuck up on me this year. We just celebrated Easter and enjoyed a well deserved Spring Break vacation. All of a sudden I find myself in my craft room preparing for Mother's Day. So what do you get the women that mean so much to you? Something made from the heart!

I decided to create handmade card sets. Here is the first one made from the Emporium papers. This set contains 6 cards with envelopes and can be stored in it's own little card holder. Perfect for grabbing a last minute card.

Here is the card that will accompany the gift, also done with Emporium papers.

Need more Mother's Day ideas? This is only part 1, check back soon for more projects I've created. Also, check out the Heart 2 Heart Blog for lovely artwork all about Mom this week!

Treetop Tree

I created this Mother's Day page this week {yes, I realize I'm a bit behind} and have been wanting to try this very trendy tree motif. You've seen these trees made from various items all over the magazines and blogs lately. I chose the "Treetops" stamp to make smaller leaves of a larger tree. I free~handed the tree and embossed it with a cuttlebug folder. I distressed the leaf edges, inked them, then finished off the tree with some threaded buttons. Because the tree has so much detail I chose to leave the photo and base page very simple. I had a great time creating this page and had so much fun creating a big tree from little treetops :)

Try my color combo from this page: chocolate, tulip, sorbet, creme brulee, sweet leaf and topiary!
