Make it Magical

I introduced you to the bright and colorful Calypso through a layout made for summer! You also said "Hello!" to the gorgeous Florence papers. Today I am making some magic with the fun and playful paper collection called Magical.

If you are a theme park enthusiast like me you are going to love this collection. In the Idea Book many of the layouts featured photo's with those famous mouse ears indicating that they were perfect for Disneyland theme park vacations. From the stamps available and the accessories that coordinate with this paper it definitely speaks the magic known to Disney.

However, our family recently ventured to a theme park full of a different kind of magic! For the first time ever we visited Universal Studios Hollywood in California where they recently opened the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. As you will see the Magical papers complimented this theme park just as well as Disneyland.

Take a closer look at how I showcased a couple of postcards purchased at the Owl Post in Hogsmeade.

I used some very old metal hinges that I broke in half and fastened them tightly on the top and bottom of the cards with a couple of brads. It was just enough to hold them in place, yet I can remove them easily to see the front of the cards and the special Hogsmeade postmark stamp on the back!

The Magical papers were also a lot of fun for scrapbooking some of the other lands and attractions at Universal Studios.

From Wizards to Minions this paper truly is Magical and will make your fun family vacations more memorable!

Unique Mom's

The entire month of May is National Scrapbooking Month and Close To My Heart is celebrating with the Happy Times paper collection. I'm really trying to celebrate this month and get caught up on my own scrapbook pages. I was able to use these pretty new papers for a layout to showcase a few beautiful photographs taken on Mother's Day.

We celebrated Mother's Day at my Sister-in-Law's home this year. My In-Law's have a large family and we branch off in many directions, making a big photo like this very special. I can say that each of us are truly unique and lucky to have each other to learn this tough, but rewarding job of being mom's.

The Happy Times floral paper really complimented the pictures especially as we were all holding roses. I also like the soft colors against the black background with the pops of gold paper and bling. The "Unique" PML card is actually from the Florence papers and the card with gold hearts is one of the new watercolor PML cards.

Be sure to get this paper collection before its no longer available. Shop online here.

Photo Booth Fun with the SOTM

I was so proud of my teenage daughter for making all the plans and doing all the work to put together her Birthday party this year. One of her ideas was to create a photo booth with props for her and some friends to play, laugh and get that perfect picture!

I knew that these photo's would be fun to scrapbook later, but it was even more fun using the Stamp of the Month; Life in Pictures. This is a great stamp set that will work for scrapbooking pages, mini albums and cards. This month you can get it for just $5 with qualifying purchase!

I just love those vintage cameras! The polaroid frame is a great base for several small pictures on a layout. See more artwork ideas and details of the Stamp of the Month offer on the Current Specials tab at the top. You can also find more ideas on Pinterest!

Zoe WOTG Layout

The layout I'm sharing with you today is from the WOTG (Workshop on the Go) Kit. The kit contains the wonderful papers, a fun D-size stamp set, the Zoe assortment, Coral shimmer trim and an instructional brochure. It is everything you need to complete 2 layouts and still have leftovers for other projects.

I made the layout as instructed in the brochure, but as always I changed a few elements here and there! I also used a few pieces from the Zoe Complements, sold separately from the kit. All of these items are available for purchase now.

Purchase the new Zoe collection online here. If you are interested in doing the Workshop as a class let me know, I would love to show you how easy it is!

Life is an Adventure

So far I have shown you ways to use the Stamp of the Month on cards. Today I will show you how this stamp set can also be used on a layout.

I chose to use up some older Later Sk8r papers with some coordinating cardstocks. I kept the layout very simple and opposite of what I normally do, I left some white space in the center of the pages. I used the sentiments on both pages and also used that frame to spotlight a couple of the photographs on the right page. A glittery title and some really old metal hinges finishes the page.

Life is an adventure, be sure to record the memories!

Also remember that this month you can get the Life is Wonderful stamp set for free! Check the Current Specials tab at the top of this blog for more details!

The Scrap Room Renovation Layout

I have been working in my newly renovated scrapbooking room for a couple of weeks now. I'm adjusting to the various changes, but can say that I really love having everything organized again. The wood floors make me so happy every time I walk into the room and I'm very conscious about caring for them. A great way to remember all the hard work that went into renovating this room (and keeping it nice) was to create a layout about the transformation!

I held nothing back in creating this layout. I made it a true reflection of what this space means to me and feels like. The colors and embellishments in the layout represent my new room. I used lots of bits and pieces that I rediscovered through the clean up process.

 When looking at the layout as a whole, your eye moves from left to right, starting with a before picture and moving through to the after photo. It also flows in a rainbow color scheme with pops of black & white, as do several areas of my scrapbook room. {ribbon, storage bins, Heidi Swapp color shine bottles, markers & inks}

{left page}

{right page}

I used one of the Heidi Swapp color shine templates, not as a template to spray mist, but literally the template! I added a color shine heart misted with sweet cherry and attached some ancient Basic Grey ribbons. A little FABulous stamped in black at the top from CTMH Happiness Lives Here, Design Decor Framed Art stamp set.

New and old patterned paper banners with some fun Washi tape.

More Washi tape used as labels and embellishments galore.

A cluster of stamps from an Operation Smile stamp set and Documenting Moments. More bright colors with a pop of black!

Here I used a Jillibean Soup "hello" photo frame, Heidi Swapp color shine "love" heart and a mix of papers and embellishments.

And finally, a Heidi Swapp color shine label card misted in teal and mint green with the date stamped in black. A zip strip with a great message and a few more buttons and twine finish this page.

Now I will always remember the love and hard work that went into creating the space,
where I CREATE!

Silly Toontown Fun

Every Summer I take the time to get caught up on my own scrapbook. I started a few pages already from my daughter's Disneyland celebration, but I realized I missed a couple pics. These were such fun pictures we took in Toontown that they needed to be included in the album! Plus, I already had some Confetti Wishes paper still out from the cake card I posted yesterday.

Not only did I use up most of the Confetti Wishes paper, but I used all the MyStickease left on the sheet. It's a great feeling to use up all those materials and get the pages filled in my album!

A Summer Time Card Club

My Crate Card Club met this past weekend. It was a much smaller group than usual, but we still had fun! Not only did we create our cards together, but they also got to create an Ice Cream Dream layout. Here is the layout they made using the Stamp of the Month.

Yummy scoops, a happy sentiment and lots of little baubles and bits!

Can't you just hear the song playing from this little paper pieced truck beckoning you to come eat cold delicious ice cream?!

Keeping in the theme, I designed my card this month also with the Ice Cream Dream stamp set and bright, happy colors.

This time its a triple scoop of yumminess!!!

The other card club members made Summer inspired card this month also. There were birds, flowers and fireworks!

Blossom Delight

Earlier this week I shared a layout I did using the new Blossom papers and complements. These products showcased my pictures of the tulip festival beautifully. I had a few more favorite pictures from the same event that I wanted to scrapbook. I carried over the same papers and embellishments, but this layout looks so different from the first. Check it out!

 In this layout I wanted to leave a cleaner, brighter base to allow the photo's to really be the center of attention. I pulled in some orange B&T papers, a fun section of zip strip, and a few more complements that were remaining on the sheet.

On this page I used a piece of the new Carnival Washi tape to add a sentiment to the left of the picture. Not to leave too much white space I created a stamped cluster of Shower Flowers in the upper corner and then lower corner on the adjacent page.

Just a few colorful sequins and a metal butterfly finish the pages wonderfully. I absolutely love this picture of my mom, she looks so beautiful. I also treasure this picture of my "little" brother and I. We aren't able to spend time together often, so I truly cherish these moments! {A great big thank you to my husband for thinking to snap our picture together!}

You can order all of these brand new products from the Seasonal Expressions 2 book online here.
