September Card Club & a Surprise!

Crate Card Club made its 'mini' return this month. Not all of my members have returned yet, but we still had fun creating! Here is the card I created again and remember I told you that I had a surprise for the girls!

On my card I did some background stamping on the base of the card. I used a 'Best Day' sentiment from the Zoe WOTG kit. That was the only stamping for this card! All the other details were cut on my Cricut from mostly the Artistry cartridge and the Artbooking cartridge. I used some Fundamental Papers for a little shine and added in some new aqua shimmer trim for even more sparkle!

My surprise for the ladies is a new idea I wanted to try. A monthly add-on kit that will coordinate with my card. As much as we all love to exchange cards, I still have some scrapbooker's in my group. I love that this idea reflects the direction of Close To My Heart's Annual Inspirations Book which is to focus on memory keeping! After making cards I will show my customers the two page layout. If they like it they can add the kit to their order for $10. They will get everything they need, pre-cut and pre-stamped with instructions to create the layout for themselves. So far it is a success!

Here are the other cards that the ladies created for our exchange. As always we had a great mix of themes and products.

Thank you for stopping by, have a great week crafters!

Card Club Returns

Today my Crate Card Club returns. We took a little break over the Summer, but now we are ready to start back up! With all the new products from the Annual Inspiration just being released it is exciting to imagine all the possibilities. For my card I've incorporated lots of cuts from the brand new Artistry Cricut cartridge. I gave a little sneak peek of it on Instagram, but the ladies attending don't know that I have another little surprise in store for them! Here is your sneak peek too, but you will have to come back to see the surprise for yourself.

A Summer Time Card Club

My Crate Card Club met this past weekend. It was a much smaller group than usual, but we still had fun! Not only did we create our cards together, but they also got to create an Ice Cream Dream layout. Here is the layout they made using the Stamp of the Month.

Yummy scoops, a happy sentiment and lots of little baubles and bits!

Can't you just hear the song playing from this little paper pieced truck beckoning you to come eat cold delicious ice cream?!

Keeping in the theme, I designed my card this month also with the Ice Cream Dream stamp set and bright, happy colors.

This time its a triple scoop of yumminess!!!

The other card club members made Summer inspired card this month also. There were birds, flowers and fireworks!

Typed Note Surprise

Time is running out to get the fabulous Typed Note Stamp of the Month! I had so much fun playing with this stamp all month long. One final project I made is a creative card for my son's Birthday. This was an idea that I talked about at the Crate Card Club, but had not tried it yet. I wanted to take the paper in the typewriter and make it a functional message that would be revealed when pulled out of the typewriter. It was super easy to create.

I used paper left over from my Crate Cards. The card was left basically with the same template, I just added some extra stamping, distressing and embellishments. Then I altered the typewriter to accommodate the pull-up message.

To achieve this effect I bubble cut the typewriter making sure to cut off the paper at the top. Then I cut a smaller strip of white cardstock {1x 2.75} to stamp the messages. I made certain that this piece would slide between some 3D foam tape that was mounted underneath the typewriter. The puffy star makes it easier to pull out the paper.

With just a few tweaks this card goes from flat, to fun and interactive!! Be sure to get this stamp set before it's no longer available!

Just a few more days to grab your Deal of the Day too! Order online here.

April Crate Card Club

This past weekend I held my April Crate Card Club. There were 5 of us total participating this month. As always we had a nice mix of cards with different themes and ideas! Let me share what we created.

First up is my card. I knew that I would showcase this month's Stamp of the Month, Typed Note. I also knew that I wanted a taller card for something that we haven't done yet and I figured the larger typewriter image would work great on tall, skinny base card.

Here are the other cards. You will see a great mix of papers, sentiments and styles. The ladies do great work and we enjoy each others ideas. If you like their creations, please leave a comment and let them know!

March Crate Card Club with a Summer Preview

Spring truly arrived this weekend bringing wonderfully warm weather. At my Crate Card Club meeting this Saturday I had all the windows open allowing the fresh air and sunshine in, as well as my talented CCC members! Our cards included a few Birthday themes, Easter and St. Patrick's day. As always it was a mix of colors, embellishments, papers and stamps!

Participants were also given their very first look at the new Seasonal Expression 2 publication and some of the new products inside.

This first card is my own. I wanted to show them how to paper piece this cupcake card cut out on the Artfully Sent cartridge. I went with a Birthday theme as March is a big month for Birthday's in my family. I also showed them how quick and easy it is to color silver sequins with our Shin Han Touch Markers. Such a cool technique, making a great product even more versatile!

I had the new Seasonal Expressions 2 book on display with some strawberries inspired by the front cover. These cuties are cut on the Artiste cartridge as is the basket they are in. I cut them smaller than shown on the book which made it a little tricky to assemble. They still look cute and made the display complete.

February Crate Card Club

This past weekend I held my Crate Card Club. As always the participants are free to make any themed card {or special project} as they wish. The only thing I ask is that they use mostly Close To My Heart products on their creation, especially the stamps! There is always a great variety and seeing how others create is so much fun. We all inspire each other with our techniques and choice of papers, colors or stamp sets. Take a look at our art this month!

Here are all the projects displayed on a shelf just above our work table. We had a few that were Valentine inspired, but we also had, Birthday, Thank You and an everyday sentiment too.

As you can see they are all beautiful cards and even a darling, humorous candy wrapped "You're the Bomb" treat.....which has me thinking of dropping the "card" word in the name of my club. What do you think about just "Crate Club"? These ladies are so crafty and talented I'm sure they would surprise me with their creations each month!

January Crate Card Club

This past weekend I held by Crate Card Club. I had a total of 5 participants, including myself and as always we each brought a different idea to the table. With Valentine's Day next month we had a few cards in a "love" theme, but then the other cards varied in occasions!

To start I am sharing my own card. I went with the Valentine them, but this card "popped" with a different twist on it! My customers have been asking lots of questions about the Artfully Sent cartridge so I wanted to give them an example.

Love Bug~

Pretty simple card from with some heart embossing and that "awesome" You're the Bomb stamp set!

Then you open and the fun pops out inside! A super cute "love bug" with glitter headlights greets you inside!

Happy Tags Birthday~

This club is really turning out to be lots of fun. I love seeing the ideas and getting to be the student again! I wonder what you'll do next month?!
