So far I have shown you ways to use the Stamp of the Month on cards. Today I will show you how this stamp set can also be used on a layout.

I chose to use up some older Later Sk8r papers with some coordinating cardstocks. I kept the layout very simple and opposite of what I normally do, I left some white space in the center of the pages. I used the sentiments on both pages and also used that frame to spotlight a couple of the photographs on the right page. A glittery title and some really old metal hinges finishes the page.

Hopscotch and Heartstrings

Now that all the handmade cards have been sent and Christmas presents have been unwrapped, all I have left to do is scrapbook the pictures I took. I can also start planning my Valentine and Spring projects! The new Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book is full of inspiration. Here are a couple displays I showed at my Holiday Open House.

Family Adventure

Am I Artbooking or Scrapbooking? Both really!

 

These pages were so simple to put together. In fact I was able to create them while at a crop. The template for my layout came from the new Make it From Your Heart Volume 2 how-to book. I cut some overlay pieces from the Artbooking cartridge where some background texture papers would normally go. I also cut out a few title pieces I wanted to use. I brought along a few stamps and embellishments to add details. It all came together easily and the finished page is a great way to showcase some family vacation pictures.

 

I love this stamp set with the little spinner! It contains some great sentiments and adds lots of interest. The new red shimmer tape is so cool and so easy to add to your projects. That cute little bicycle paper clip was found while standing in line at Cost Plus World Market of all places!

Canvas Art Workshop

Let me show you how I did mine ~

This is everything you get in the kit. 12x12 canvas with chevron striping, sparkle flourishes, hemp baker's twine, MyAcrylix exclusive stamp set, 2 sets of chipboard pre-printed dimensional elements and instruction booklet to guide you through every step.

Other items needed to complete your canvas art not included in the kit are Cocoa Ink Pad, Liquid Glass, 3D foam tape and blocks for the stamps 1x 3 1/2, 2x2, 3x3.

First step is to decide what photo's you want to use, the suggested sizes are 5x7 and 2 1/2 x 2 1/2. Pick the color frame for them from the dimensional elements. Also choose the other embellishments and banner pieces you want to add. These will get stamped in Cocoa ink on the chipboard and allow them to dry well. I used a little bit of liquid glass to adhere my photo's to the frame. Allow these to dry well also.

I added the baker's twine around my large photo and adhered it first to the canvas as it is the biggest focal point on the frame. I used some liquid glass as well as some large glue dots to secure it to the canvas. My smaller photo frame was adhered with some 3D foam squares for added dimension. Then I just played with the banner pieces and all the other elements creating little clusters around the photographs.

It was a really fun project and seriously took me a little bit of time.

Then I discovered plenty of leftover pieces from my project. Well, I just couldn't let them go to waste!

So I created a two-page layout for some crazy pictures I took earlier in the week!

I used the left over 5x7 frame, olive green banner and some other elements to showcase how my son "tomahawks" a watermelon! {no persons or dogs were harmed in this photo shoot!}

My son has been begging me to buy a watermelon just so he could chop it up. It was all in good fun and a refreshing treat on a 110` day. Our beagle watched for awhile, then did some investigating. I don't think she liked the taste of the watermelon but enjoyed licking the cold water from it!

Dream Pop Mother's Day & Top Chick!

I told you I've been getting some scrapbooking done this month for National Scrapbooking! I'm practically ahead of the game considering we just celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday and I already have my pictures scrapped! I used a pattern from the Make It from Your Heart book and several different papers from the Dream Pop kit. I also stamped some fun and whimsical images & sentiments, because our photo session that day was a little bit silly!

So many fun details in this layout. The Mother's Day title was cut on the Artiste Cricut cartridge, I simply just cut off the "happy" portion at the top. I used some twine, bitty sparkles and even stamped some faux washi tape with a background stamp.

This morning while checking my emails, I received some awesome news! I had some artwork selected in the Top Ten on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. In additions to that, I was chosen as the Top Chick for the month of April!!! Woo Hoo!!! There is more exciting news, but I can't tell you yet!

Perfect Snow Day

Back in December my husband and I headed to the mountains with the kids and our little beagle! We just had some cold days and the mountain was dumped with white sparkly snow! There were hardly any other visitors on the mountain that day and we were making some fresh tracks. We brought along a sled and tube, and of course my kids always know how to entertain themselves by climbing trees or starting snow ball fights! We also brought a Coleman stove and boiled up some water on the tailgate for hot chocolate and apple cider! It truly was a perfect snow day!

Here is the layout I finished to showcase our photographs from that day. I am submitting it to this weeks "Snow Much Fun" challenge at Heart 2 Heart. It is not a typical snow themed layout! I pulled out some colors from our snow gear, hence the pink and black. I wanted to add lots of sparkle to remind me of how pretty the snow looked! I added bling gems, sparkles and sprayed the background with shimmer paint. I finally added in images to remember sipping our hot chocolate and cider.
