Artistry Pumpkin Patch

If anything is popping up this Fall, it's pumpkins!! I have already had a couple of pumpkin latte's and frappuccino's, made some pumpkin bread, pumpkin spiced pancakes and the pumpkin chocolate cookies did not even last for 3 days in the house! You can say I go a little crazy about pumpkin this time of year, Yum! Yum!

I ought to incorporate some pumpkins in my artwork then also. A pop-up box card full of Cricut cut pumpkins is perfect! This project is also perfect for the Heart 2 Heart "Cricut Capers" challenge.

{On the back of the card is where I left an open area to write a message to the recipient.}

I used the Artistry cartridge and Sangria papers to create the box. Hope this inspires you to add some pumpkins to your artwork, get your Cricut chirping, or at least run to get a pumpkin latte! ;)

For You Dad!

It's almost Father's day! Time to treat Dad on his special day, whether he's a classic or more contemporary. My cards reflect the different personalities of the important men in my life.

I am also playing along with the Man Oh Man challenge on the Heart 2 Heart Blog. Hopefully these cards give you a couple different ideas!

This first card was inspired by the Make It from Your Heart Blog and the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. I used the Jackson papers and some canvas sticker letters I had on hand.

The front of the card is fairly simple and straight forward.

However, when you open it your greeted with a pop-up classic car! {vroom~vroom!}

To achieve the layers of the car you will want to cut it out on your Cricut 2-3 times in different colors. Then decide what colors you want to show where and do a little further cutting and piece it all together. I used a brad for the door handle and some bigger brass brads for the center of the wheels.

While on my Cricut Design Space I saw this free Dad's day card. It was very clean and modern, I couldn't resist trying it. The Cricut cuts everything out on the base card. I simply filled in the tie with some older LaterSk8r papers and backed the interior with some black cardstock. (these cuts are also included in the free download)

My final card is also found on the Artfully Sent cartridge. Just like the previous card, all the cuts are made on the base card. I used some more Jackson papers behind the deer and backed the inside with a chocolate brown. Just a few more strips of Jackson papers and some metal brass baubles and this card is done.

Hopefully you've been inspired to create something cool for that special guy in your life! Thanks for stopping by!

Artfully Sent Spring Card Class

Yesterday I held a class to teach some of the fun Spring themed cards on the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. This class helped the ladies get more familiar with this cartridge, it's features and the endless possibilities it holds. One of the participants was also getting to know her machine for the first time, as was I since I never worked with an Expression 2 before! We had a ball and everyone went home a little bit more confident and ready to play!

Here are the 3 cards I had for examples, but as the day went on I would surprise them with another variation of it or a different style!

Here are more variations of the adorable birdcage cards.

A simple flower pot swing card.

For the bicycle card I had pre-cut several little bicycles and banners in an assortment of colors. Here are some detail pictures of the sample card.

As I mentioned before, throughout the class I continued to surprise them with another card. I was having a little bit of fun revealing each card as I pulled it out of my Lagoon Chevron shoulder bag! After receiving instructions to make a card they would start experimenting on their own. During this time I was also playing on my machine and would reveal a completely different card that I just cut and assembled. I will show these cards in upcoming posts so stay tuned....You want to know what I had in my bag don't you?!!
