Embossed Background ~ H2H Technique Challenge

Everyone is sharing their favorite technique this week on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. How do I choose just one! I enjoy learning new techniques and applying them often to various projects.

I absolutely love that we can create our own background papers with any of the stamps that Close To My Heart offers. I combined my love of background stamping with another favorite, embossing! Wet embossing is such an easy technique, because the product basically does all the work for you.

I stamped a flourish stamp on some Kraft cardstock with VersaMark ink. You can see that it stayed really wet on the Kraft paper so I was able to see where I needed to apply the black embossing powder.

Once it was all covered in embossing powder I simply heated it and watched it become shiny. Imagine this look on a larger scale in your home!

For this card I also used this months Stamp of the Month "Chairs to You", pleated juniper ribbon, mini pearl opaques and a canvas badge button. {lace ribbon and flower are not CTMH}

Stampin' Album

To further spark your interest in the Stamp Technique album I posted previously, here is a peek at one of the pages inside. This is the class I will be teaching in September in honor of National Stamping Month. There is also a very cool card kit being offered called Delight in the Everyday. {click the add on the right for more info} I am looking forward to getting a kit for myself, but I still had an old kit leftover from a year or so ago called From Me to You. I have been working on some cards using this kit, but replaced the papers with the new Grace Level 2 papers. I will post pics of these cards soon!

Did you know that next month is National Stamping Month? Close To My Heart has a wonderful promotion going on for National Stamping Month. You can find more info about Delight in the Everyday promo on the right side of the page. I wanted my September Club project to fit the theme of "stamping". So next month the ladies will be creating this Love 2 Stamp mini book. It is created from one of the pages from CTMH's new All~Sorts Mini Chipboard Album. I chose the page that resembles a "postage stamp", because it's all about stamping techniques. Some of the techniques are new, while others are simply oldies, but goodies. Either way they will now have this reference book at their fingertips when they are looking for the perfect technique for their project. I will post more pictures of the pages within after I hold my class {wouldn't want to spoil the surprise you know}.
