Hello Unicorns

Despite my lack in posts here on the Blog, I must reassure you that I am making time to play in my craft room. Especially now with the big Stampaganza sale happening! Some of my favorite stamps are simply sayings or sentiments. They can convey your message on a card or show emotion to a scrapbooking page. Close To My Heart has several stamp sets with some traditional sentiments and some very trending, popular sayings. This month is the perfect time to stock up on your favorites! Here is just a cute card I created using the Dreamin' Big papers, a few embellishments and a thin cut. The perfect sentiment can be found on the inside of the card.

This greeting on the inside was made up of 2 different sentiment stamps, so go ahead and mix it up!

I posted the front of this card on Instagram a few days ago. If you are not on Instagram, I recommend that you join, its a ton of inspiration. If not, you can always click on the camera/Instagram logo on the right of my blog just under my profile. It will take you to my page. There you will find more artwork posted regularly and in most cases before I get it on my Blog.

Dreamin' Big Camera

I'm super excited to share this project with you. This Christmas my daughter wished for a camera. She loves photography and would like a camera with all the bells and whistles that will last a lifetime. Sticking to the "mom & dad Christmas budget" we opted to give her money to save up for what she really wants. I'm not much for just handing money in an envelope, so I came up with something more creative! Thanks to the SVG Cuts website I found the perfect camera!!

This camera is a nice big 3D project. It is easy to cut out and assemble with the instructional video. The Dreamin' Big papers were perfect to use and coordinate so nicely. The entire top of the camera, with dials and all, lifts off revealing a space for rolls of cash! Look closely at the acetate lens...how cool, yes!

Please visit SVGCuts for tons of inspiring ideas. You can get this new Dreamin' Big paper collection and coordinating products now online. Thanks for visiting!

Pop and Twist Calendar 2017

I try to come up with a different calendar idea every year. This year a few pop & twist card ideas were trending on the internet, so it was fitting that I designed a similar concept for my calendar this year. I taught this as a class last week and it was a big success. Here are my calendar samples using the Swan Lake collection and a sneak peek at a brand new collection coming in January!

This one is already sitting at home in my freshly cleaned scrapbook room! This is a new paper collection called Dreamin' Big that you will see in the Winter/Spring Seasonal Expressions Idea Book. You can get your hands on this gorgeous paper starting January 1st.

Here are a few more of the calendars made by the ladies. Each kit was different and used various collections of paper and embellishments. Look closely as you may see a few more sneak peeks!

The total dimensions of this calendar is 5 x 7 so you can lay it down flat and place it in an envelope for easy mailing. To display you simply lift on the top piece, slightly twist and it holds in place by the post-it note pad and embellishments if desired. Here are some quick dimensions to get you started on making one of your own.

Base cardstock measures 5 x12, score at 7 inches. Then turn at a diagonal on you paper trimmer or score board and make a score line from the bottom corner to the top of the side that now measures 5x5, creating two triangles.

Place glue on the bottom triangle that gets folded and twisted up towards the base, not on both triangles! You will then place another piece of matching cardstock that measures 5x7 to the top where you placed glue, making certain to line up the top with the bottom piece.

All that is left is to decorate with coordinating patterned papers and embellishments. Don't forget your calendar and post-it note pad. {It is best to use red line glue to keep a secure hold as the calendar will be displayed somewhat vertically.} I get my calendars from Taylored Expressions. We also decorated a pen to match for writing down those important thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you make a Pop & Twist calendar!
