Showing Sympathy with Flower Market

The newest Cricut Cartridge, Flower Market, has been very useful lately. I've had to make a few sympathy cards in the last couple of weeks and the detailed flowers and sentiments on this cartridge have worked beautifully. Take a look at two of the designs I've created.

I've used a similar color scheme on both as well as the same sentiment cut. However with some different patterned/embossed papers and two very different layered flowers they are uniquely not identical!

The Flower Market Cricut cartridge is available to order now in the traditional physical cartridge or a digital version. Get more details on my website here.

With Sympathy

I have been playing with several new products in preparation for my Open House event this weekend. One of the new stamps I purchased fits perfectly with this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge. Sympathy cards are not my favorite, but from time to time are needed for rare situations. For the H2H challenge to create a sympathy card I have used the new Words of Comfort stamp set. I also incorporated the new Love Blooms stamp where I got to play with some of our new Alcohol Markers.

This first card uses the Flirty papers and the roses were colored in with markers. I then highlighted them with the new pink Glitz Glitter Gel. It's a vibrant, bright card designed to lift the spirit of the recipient!

This card uses the same rose, but in lighter more subtle colors. I used the Clementine papers with some neutral burlap ribbon and cream pearls. I chose to use the stamps in soft colors to fill in the outline of the rose. I lightly blended the colors together with a blending pen. Simply elegant.

With Sympathy

It's very rare that I create sympathy cards. Quite simply they are made because of an unfortunate event or out of sadness. I much prefer Birthday cards, Thank You cards, etc. Sometimes you just can't avoid it though.

I was able to use some new products on these cards which made it a bit easier. The reason for making them is that my Uncle passed away this past weekend leaving his wife, my Aunt {whom also happened to be my God parents} and two daughters with families of their own. As I created the cards, I was able to reflect back on some memories. I realized that the process was quite therapeutic. Hopefully these cards will give you inspiration when you are not inspired to do something that is unavoidable.
