Close To My Heart founder Jeanette Lynton posted a color combination on her blog this week that is just lovely. Her artwork using this color palette was amazing. I wanted to use a wooden frame and give it some elegance. I also wanted to try my hand at paper roses that were inspired by Tracey Mason and her gorgeous convention artwork.

H2H Color Challenge
It's a color challenge on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog this week. It is an unusual mix of colors so it had me intrigued right away. Here is what I came up with. Be sure to check out what the fabulous design team created too.
I was also excited to try the color combo on CTMH founder Jeanette Lynton's blog. I will post my creation soon, so come on back!

Baby Board Book
I've been so excited to show this project I made for my expecting Sis-in-law. I used the new Close To My Heart My Creations Board Book, new My Creations A-door-ables, and the Animal Cookies Level 2 paper. Each page is interactive with little doors and flaps to open. All that chipboard made the book chunky, so as you'll see in the pictures that it does not lay flat. I've also incorporated some Stickease, Lots of Dots & Pizzazz Irresistibles, summer buttons, hinges, bigger brads and various stamp sets. Creating this book was easy and fun. I can't wait to create another one!

July Back 2 Basics
The Back 2 Basics pages for July are patriotic and just plain fun. They are a perfect base for those 4th of July photo's. I love the color combination of Outdoor Denim, Indian Corn Blue, Cranberry and a crisp White Daisy base. Those attending will learn tone on tone random stamping, edge distressing, ink masking, color dragging and adding cute embellishments such as ribbon tabs.

The Cat's Meow
Just a fun little card to share today. I like the combination of these colors, crystal blue and sweet leaf with some black and cream thrown in. I created it for my step mom who has the biggest heart for people and pets, especially cats. Isn't this kitty from the Family Pets stamp so cute? After stamping the image I chalked in blue to make him pop out. Enjoy!

Accordian Album
I posted the cover of this accordion album yesterday and told you how I helped a friend of mine create this for her son's first communion. She is fairly new to scrapbooking, but wanted to do something special with her photographs. She and I sat down in my craft room and in a little over 2 hours we had completed the entire album. Some journaling will need to be added later, but it is pretty much complete.

Joy of Giving
First off, I want to say how happy I am that my Summer Wishes Jar was chosen as the Friday Five on Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog. I really enjoyed creating it and will cherish it and the memories it contains for years to come. I am just thrilled that others liked it too.
I really enjoy giving my creations to others also. I am a scrapbooker and card maker, but I like to refer to myself as a "gift specialists". I especially enjoy spoiling my Nieces and Nephews. I could just buy a toy from the store, but I love to make them little crafty items too.
Here is a coloring book I made for my 4 year old nephew. He can color the pages on a car ride or perhaps when he's hanging out with his Grandparents. When he is done coloring it, his parents may want to hold on to it as a little treasure or keep sake.

Splendor Recipe Box
Next month I am hosting a workshop to create this recipe box. Close To My Heart introduced the box in the summer Idea Book and instantly I knew this would be a fabulous project. My customers and friends know that I usually have something yummy to eat when they come over for a class. Now they can create this super cute box to file those recipes of toffee or frog eye salad!
I ultimately chose the splendor papers for my box because the greens and oranges match my kitchen, but also because I absolutely love this paper pack. All the products I used are CTMH except that big fat orange ribbon. {oh, how I wish we sold more ribbon}
Check out the H2H blog for more fabulous ideas with a "recipe" theme!

Summer Cards
This week I will be teaching a class devoted to Summer Time! These fun cards have vibrant summer colors, whimsical images and surprises too!
This card is simple, but perfect for that last minute outdoor barbecue with family or friends.
The sentiment on this card is a great motto for the season. {Plus, the song plays in my head every time I look at it!} This sunbather is chilaxing with just the right amount of embellishments and glitter.

Summer Wishes in a Jar
~ Heart 2 Heart ABC {anything but a card} Challenge ~
I enjoy making cards and scrapbooking my photo's, but I especially love creating projects from found or recycled products. For this week's challenge over at H2H, I wanted to create a jar to showcase some snap shots from this summer and fill it with our memories!
The Ball jar has been hiding in the back of my pantry for some time now. I created a four panel piece of card stock that is decorated with Splendor papers, family pics and stamped images from Hot Diggity. I also stamped tiny bumble bees and adhered them inside the jar with a tiny bit of liquid glass. It reminds me of summers back east as a little girl trying to catch fire flies. That is also how I arrived at the tag description of "capture summer wishes". It will be an ongoing project this summer adding more memories that we have yet to make.
I topped off the jar with circle paper flowers, or as I learned from Tresa Black this weekend "lollipop flowers". I adorned it with some sheer and grosgrain ribbons.
