World is Yours Cards Too!

Hello! Hope you are enjoying National Scrapbooking Month so far! The World is Yours collection is great for all those moments we will celebrate not only in May, but throughout the year! However, the papers and exclusive stamp set from this collection can be used for making cards also. Here are a couple cards I created with that cute bicycle image.

You can simply stamp the bike on a piece of cardstock or you can fussy-cut the image and add it to your project. Don't forget that flowers and leaves make great background stamps! Be sure to check out all the options available this month and other specials going on online! Have an adventurous day!

Tool Time on H2H

This week Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog asks us to create a project using our favorite tool or incorporating a tool on our manly project! One of my favorite tools is undoubtedly the Cricut. I chose the Artiste cartridge for the fun sprocket images. They worked perfectly for a "bike" theme on my awesome guy card! I used the Later Sk8r papers and some small metal looking screw images from the coordinating embellishments. I added more real metal with brads and eyelets to the sprockets using another fun tool, the Crop-o-dile.

This card will be given to my husband for Father's Day. He has been riding his bike to work almost everyday for over a year now! When we ride together he motivates me to ride farther and faster. He also listens to my complaining the whole ride..."I'm exhausted", "My knees hurt", "Are we there yet?"...What a great guy, I'm so proud of him!!

Summer Time Sketch

Today is the first day of our Summer Vacation! The Paper Players challenge this week is to create a project with a Summer theme. I chose to feature a little bike. It's one of the activities I really enjoy doing. I have to get up early in the morning though to beat the sweltering heat! I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week. I loved the banners and twine. I thought it would be interesting to create black & white banners to contrast the bright pinks, oranges and yellows.

Shore Thing Sunshine

Some of you know how I feel about the trend of bicycle stamps or images. I think they are super cute and this one is certainly no different! It's from the new Bright Sunshiny Day stamp set. It's a very cool beach cruiser sitting in the sand! I wanted to create a vintage feel with this card and the ruffles add just a bit of shabby chic!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week, only I turned it.

Make a Card Today!

Hey Bloggers! Today is World Card Making Day! There are several blogs out there today celebrating too, inspiration is everywhere! I did a little research yesterday to figure out which cards are the most popular greeting cards. Birthday cards were number one, followed by Christmas. None of the sites I researched really gave the third most popular. Mostly they indicated that major Holidays such as Halloween, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day were all close runner up's.

So to celebrate today I created all brand new cards for Birthday, Christmas and a general everyday greeting card that I felt showcased a very hot trend in card making this year!

My first card is a Birthday card. Birthday's can't be sweeter than some colorful ice cream. Here I used the Fanfare stamp set and a fun shape cut on the Artiste cartridge.

For this Christmas card I steered away from the traditional colors and pulled in some beautiful blue papers from the Avonlea papers. I used the Perfect-Fit Holidays stamp set and added some bling to my snowflakes.

Finally, my everyday greeting card. Who doesn't love the surprise of happy mail!! I loved the trend of rainbow colors in artwork this year and those who know me best saw it in many of my projects! and of course I had to throw in a little bicycle {heart them}!!

"Scraps" Challenge!

Over on Heart 2 Heart this week is a challenge to use up your "scraps". What a great challenge seeing how my scraps bag is overflowing. The only item that is not a scrap was the card base. Everything else was pulled from my stuffed bag, check it out~

Yikes! Please tell me that you all have this same issue? I pulled some squares from some leftover Dotty for You kit and some Honey paper from an even older paper kit. I also had some Grey Wool cardstock that was replaced with the new Slate color. I used a new stamp set to add texture to the piece of Grey Wool. This brand new double stamp will be available August 15th in honor of National Stamping Month. The bicycle and sentiment are also on this stamp.

Spring Card Exchange 2012 {part 1}

Happy Monday to you all! This past weekend I held a scrapbooking workshop and my Spring Card Exchange. My customers always create amazing cards and there is always such variety. The cards could be anything with a Spring theme like flowers, birds, butterfly's, bunnies and chicks!

I will post all of their creations soon, but first I'd like to share what I came up with. I am also playing along with the challenge at Heart 2 Heart this week. This bicycle stamp looks awesome embossed in black!

Here they all are wrapped up. Why keep them sealed in a plastic sleeve? Because, each card was scented with a Pina Colada scent. That's what I love about Spring...warmer weather, riding my bike and relaxing with a refreshing cocktail!
