The Lovely Chantilly {Spring Open House}

I have some more artwork for you today from my Spring Open House. One of the prettiest papers in the new book is the lovely Chantilly. I was able to create a couple of layouts showing the papers versatility. It has lots of pinks and reds in it, but is not necessarily a girly paper!

Before I show you the pages, I want to share a card I made for the Paper Players challenge. This card definitely shows off the pretty, feminine side of Chantilly!

This first layout shows the "girly" side of Chantilly. It has pinks, reds, yellows and floral patterns. I created this one for my teen daughter that enjoys fashion.

Check out this fun embellishment created with the stamp included in the Workshop on the Go kit! The arrow can spin to indicate my daughter's fashion choice!

The little dress was cut on the Cricut Artiste cartridge then paper pieced!

Flip to the other side of the double sided paper and you get a whole new look of Chantilly! How adorable would this page be for a little boy or even your Easter celebration!

The recent trend of honeycombs is so graphic and fun! The little sentiment included on the stamp in the kit is just perfect for the shapes!

The fabric buttons are a quick embellishment anywhere on your project.

There you have it! The lovely Chantilly paper is pretty and oh so versatile! I would also recommend the Workshop on the Go kit so that you can play with not only the gorgeous papers, but the stamp, fabric buttons, glitter gems and instructional brochure. {G1053 $29.95}

I am also entering this card in this week's Heart 2 Heart challenge for all that glitters! It contains some great bling and the fabulous black shimmer trim!

Hello Pennants

One of the fun stamps that caught my eye right away in the new Spring Idea Book were the Patterned Pennants. I used these to create this card's background for the Freshly Made Sketches. The pennants remind me of rays of sunshine! Paired with the vintage bicycle image it has me longing for summer and cruising the boardwalk in So~Cal!

Fancy Fold {Swing Card}

This week's challenge on Heart 2 Heart is to show off your fancy folds! The design team has some great inspiration with truly some very fancy folds, be sure to check them out! My folds aren't so fancy, but they are still fun! Plus, the Artiste Cricut cartridge makes it too easy to create a swing card.

Simple Sketch with Sunshine!

This week on the Paper Players Blog is a super simple sketch. Playing with some new Chantilly papers I added a bit of sunshine to it!

The sweet little cloud is from the stamp set only available in the Chantilly Workshop on the Go. I added a few rays of creme brulee twine for the sun light!

Inspired By Blue and Yellow Dots

The inspiration photo on Inspired By this week has some very bold colors of bright yellow and dark blue on a lighter blue background. Polka dots seem to be everywhere now lately, fashion, home decor and paper crafts of course. This is what I came up with for this challenge~

I strongly encourage you to check out the artwork this week on Inspired By. There are some very creative entries that will truly inspire you!

Oh Valentine Tree!

The Whooo's Your Valentine Kit has been a big hit so far. The treat tubes, darling stamp set and fabulous glitter paper has attracted many to wanting this kit! I have a project for you today that will make you want it even more!

Awhile back one of my customers showed me these paper mache cones she purchased at a craft store. We all started brain storming ideas for them, then along came the Whooo's Your Valentine kit and I knew instantly what to do!

Why only have trees at Christmas? They are darling for Valentine's Day too!

Last Friday the ladies came over for some crafting and each made their own tree. Some used the stamp set from the kit, while a few used some coordinating papers. All the hearts were cut on the Artiste cartridge making the job a whole lot easier, considering each tree takes over 100 hearts. We still had 2 Cricut's running for a good hour or so! My tree was done with some Blush, Cotton Candy, Tulip, Lagoon and Sky inks. However, these clever ladies worked some of the new glitter paper into theirs and they looked amazing!

The Whooo's Your Valentine Kit is only available for a few more days. For more details and to purchase your kit, visit my online shop here.

For Always Valentine

I really like working with black and white, because it can be so versatile and allows an array of other colors to be added in. That's why I love the new For Always papers in the Close To My Heart Spring Idea Book available in just a few days!!!

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week with a little hidden surprise! I chose the Tulip red as my pop of color for the challenge at Dynamic Duos. It is a retired color now, but is still one of my favorites, because it is not a super bright red or too dark!

{Edit: I am also entering this in Color My Heart's Color Dare challenge this week; black & white with a pop of color!}

All products are Close To My Heart. I've incorporated some older ribbons; Tulip red rosettes and Cotton Candy pink pom-pom, black glitter buttons available in the Spring Idea Book and the stamped sentiments are from the Whooo's Your Valentine Kit only available this month!

Sweet Cotton Cupcakes!

A couple days ago I shared the Clementine Mini Accordion Album I made for my great nieces first Birthday. In addition to her keepsake album I created these onsie cupcakes inspired by a photo I had seen on Pinterest.

I used a nice white box and wrapped it in twine and stamped a label that says "Freshly Baked".

Inside were four delicious cupcakes of onsies, pants and comfy socks. Each were rolled tightly together and placed in a decorative cupcake wrapper cut on the Cricut Artiste cartridge.

For a finishing touch, I sprinkled them with some little hearts!

Are those the cutest cupcakes or what? Here is the sweet Birthday Girl opening them up!

Clementine Mini Album

It has been awhile since I created one of the 6x6 accordion albums. I remember how much I love decorating these mini albums and this one was especially fun. First of all its for a special little one year old in the family and second it uses one of my favorite paper collections from last season, Clementine!

Here is the little cutie with her momma opening up her album!

This was not the only gift I handmade for Birthday Girl. Come back soon to see what else she received, it was a Pinterest inspired idea!!

Hot Cocoa Challenge

The challenge this week on Heart 2 Heart challenges is to create a project with hot cocoa images or using the very trendy Cocoa color. I do love Close To My Heart's Cocoa ink and cardstock. It is a great base color for so many projects.

Lately I've been seeing several creations imitating the look of chalkboard. I thought I would give this technique a try with our cocoa cardstock rather than black. It worked pretty well, check it out!

Along with the Cocoa I pulled in some older neutral papers, Cranberry pleated ribbon and some darling Juniper mittens cut on the Cricut Artiste cartridge. Be sure to see the other Cocoa creations on the H2H blog!
