Wonderful You

Soft colors, a simple design, and just a touch of bling! What a pretty card can be created with the right colors and stamp! I was a little stuck for ideas at first with Dynamic Duos choice of colors this week. Soft pink, I used CTMH Blush, and a coral orange, I chose Sorbet. In the end it's a clean and simple card.

Celebrate with Chalk, Cake and a Sketch!

My card today is so much fun! It was truly inspired by multiple challenges that worked really well together.

Over at Heart 2 Heart challenges we are baking a cake! I only have a few stamps with cake images, but this is my favorite...cupcakes with a cherry on top! Yum!

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. It's a clean and simple sketch and the twist this week was to have a Birthday theme!

Finally, the photo at Inspired By has the most awesome chalkboard home décor. I love the trend of chalkboard art right now and knew that with the theme and sketch it would work perfectly!

I embossed white powder on black cardstock, then smudged some White Daisy ink to appear like a chalkboard. You will also notice some bright, fun Dream Pop papers in there! {You'll have the chance to order this gorgeous paper for yourself soon!} The cupcakes and stand were colored in with alcohol markers.

You should check out all of these challenge blogs. There's so much inspiration and creativity to be found!
Thanks for stopping by! 8)

One Layer Thank You

I can't remember the last time I created a one layer card! That was the challenge this week on The Paper Players. I decided to keep it simple with a Thank You card, perfect for a teacher or perhaps a secretary that works just as hard for all the students!

I encourage you to visit The Paper Players blog and see the other creations from the design team. Their artwork is incredible and inspires unique ideas for only one layer!!

Hooray For You!

Imagine that you took a bright, colorful Birthday card and edited it to be black and white! That was the feeling I got when I created this card for the Dynamic Duos challenge. The bold colors and simple theme makes this card great for any guy! It's also very graphic and actually has lots of shine in person. I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I was not sure that the medallion at the top would work, but it eventually grew on me!

Up close you can really see the shimmer of the Dream Pop paper available May 1st for National Scrapbooking Month!

Pop! Shine! Celebrate!

It's almost here!! May is National Scrapbooking Month! Close To My Heart always gives you a reason to celebrate and perhaps get caught up on your scrapbooking! I sure could use a reason and some extra time to catch up on my family scrapbook! These photo's were taken during my daughter's Birthday celebration in early March. Food and shopping with her "BFF's", what better way for a teenager to celebrate! Once you see the new "dreamy" paper collection being offered next month you'll make time to create too!

I am also entering my layout in Heart 2 Heart's Button Up challenge. I decided to use the little tiny buttons to decorate my pennant banner. Look close and you'll also see a larger button in the center of some color-ready ribbon! It's the perfect embellishment to any project!

National Scrapbooking Month promotion is called Dream Pop. It's a delicious assortment of fun, unique background and texture papers as well as glossy resist cardstock papers in exclusive colors! I will post more information about this promotion and give you more "sneak peeks" as it gets closer to May! {I'm such a tease!!}

...and in high heels!

Today's card was created for the Inspired By challenge where I was not only inspired by the photo, but Laurel's "work it" card as well! I pulled in lots of blue from the photo, but just a touch of green too! I liked the sassy gal on Laurel's card and wanted to use this great sentiment from the new Women Scrapbook Statements stamp. The high heel is from a much older stamp set that maybe, possibly has never seen ink before?!?!

Rainbows of Raindrops

This week's challenge on Heart 2 Heart is all about April shower's! Lately we've had our Spring winds. I'm not a fan of the high winds 3 days straight and would much rather have some raindrops!

My card is an abstract view of big raindrops that you might capture on a window or windshield of your car. I used a solid circle from the Hit the Spot stamp that was first and second generation stamped on cardstock. The little clouds are from the stamp set in the Chantilly workshop on the go. A few bitty sparkles and color shine spray really makes these drops splash!

I love this sentiment! It's from the new Scrapbook Statements-Women set.

Happiness is Homemade {and recycled!}

I am constantly saving my BirchBox's to be repurposed as card boxes. The challenge on The Paper Players was the perfect reason to get me motivated. With Mother's Day just around the corner it was a great opportunity to get some homemade gifts made!

The box is a kraft material which makes recycling it super easy! I only needed to simply decorate the top lid to cover the BirchBox label.

Here is the before~

I inked up the County Born stamp once more this week to create a country themed box and set of cards. Here is the outside of the box recovered! Don't you just love the little wooden clothespin?!

Inside the box is a set of 10 cards, 2 each of 5 designs.

 Here is a close up of each card. One of the cards matches the outside of the box.

...and a hug around the neck!

Today's card features the Dynamic Duo's colors of light blue and cherry red. I chose some older CTMH textured papers in Crystal Blue and the retired Tulip red cardstock. I also threw in some neutral kraft cardstock and a scalloped border. The image is from the Country Born stamp set that I used yesterday. I'm having fun with the images on this set and the sentiments are so country cute!

Clean and Country

I finally got the Country Born {D1543} stamp set inked up! This stamp set will be perfect for a couple of people I know! I used the clean and simple sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. The gingham orange ribbon felt like a great match to the country inspired Mother's Day card!

Celebrate You {Spinner Card}

Who says you're required to used paper that only come in a pack together? I love mixing various papers from all the packs! I especially love popping colorful paper with black and white prints. Check out this fun spinner card that is full of color and has great graphic appeal!

Pretty Pins

I love the idea of stringing your favorite photo's across a line using clothespins. Not just plain pins though, really pretty ones. I made a set of clothespins using the Chantilly papers and a fun flower accent. I did a simple sentiment stamp on one of them and packaged them all together neatly in one of the new large My Creations Paper Pouch.

It's so simple to stamp on these paper pouches!

You could easily tuck some twine in the package and give them as a gift!
