Milk Carton House

This was a project recently shared at a team meeting. You can also find these milk carton houses on page 69 of the Spring Idea Book. On my version I chose to cover the sides with Buzz and Bumble papers. I like the little embellishments here and there, it turned out to be a cute project!

A great place for this month's home sweet home stamp!

Old Blue Wagon

Woody wagon that is! I love the nostalgic images on the new Bright Sunshiny Day MyAcrylix stamp set {D1538} They blend so nicely with the Surf's Up papers and that fabulous chocolate brown glitter paper! I chose monochromatic blues to play along with Dynamic Duos this week. {twilight and crystal blue} I used the simple sketch over on the Paper Players, it works so well to focus on the image!

Age is just a Number?

I just happen to know a few folks turning 40 soon, so I thought I would use the Dynamic Duos colors to get a head start on some cards! I love the idea of popping a color with black & white. For the blue I chose Lagoon and made some "over the hill" balloons to float into the clouds!

Tag! You're it! {H2H challenge}

It's a tag challenge on Heart 2 Heart challenges this week. I decided to create a simple card with one of the journaling tags on it. I used some of the new Buzz and Bumble papers and embellishments.

Be sure to check out the Design Team's art this week, lots of inspiring uses for those tags!!

Happy, Happy, Happy!

Duck Dynasty fans will know this phrase from Phil the dad! My daughter loves watching this show, so I thought this would be a fun card for her Birthday. In true Duck Dynasty fashion it would have been done in camouflage, but these are more like her favorite colors!

I used the sketch for this week on Freshly Made Sketches. It worked perfectly with the new Wheel of Life stamp. I used the stamp from the Chantilly Workshop on the Go to fill in the pie wedges. I also used images from the Perfect Fit-Birthday stamp as well! I think it's cute and will make my "yuppie" girl Happy, Happy, Happy!

Bicycle Canvas Art

I have a fun project to share with you today. One of the newest Home Decor items available in the Spring Idea Book are these awesome 6x6 canvas displays. I of course had to go with a bicycle theme!

I am also entering this at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week for their Home Decor challenge! I can't wait to add more canvas displays of my favorite things and create a whole wall in my scrap room!!

The canvas display comes in a natural color. I roughly painted the sides and about 1 inch from the edges on the top. I used this great paint color called Caribbean, but it reminds me of Close To My Heart's Lagoon color!

I then used Mod Podge to adhere a square of the chevron patterned For Always paper. I let that dry over night then added the other elements which included some Chantilly papers, embossed bicycle, color ready ribbon, and a chipboard bubble with an embossed sentiment.

I love how cute it turned out! Can you imagine several colorful variations decorating a lonely space on your wall! Be sure to check out the other creations for your home decorating needs at Heart2Heart!

The Paper Players ~ Peace and Comfort

The theme this week on The Paper Players is sympathy. They are indeed a difficult card to make, however they can be so welcoming to a person grieving. Using some new Chantilly papers and the gorgeous Fabulous You {C1533} bird image I've created this card. Perhaps one day it will bring some peace and comfort to a friend.

Hoot~Hoot Love! {Mojo Monday meets Dynamic Duo}

How about some sweet Valentine love today, while I combine two challenges!

I've used the sketch from Mojo Monday this week and the colors of pink & red from Dynamic Duo's. I chose Close To My Heart colors of Cotton Candy and Cranberry on a nice clean white background. These little owls are so in love...what a hoot!

Paper Pouches and Washi Tape {Spring Open House}

This is the final artwork from my Open House. I mentioned yesterday that there were several new My Creations items including paper pouches. One of the fun new embellishments I did not list is our new washi tape in slate grey! Both are really cool products, but they are awesome together!!

This first project was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. It's the simple idea of dressing up a plain tealight candle. When cleverly packaged in a decorated pouch it becomes a sweet gift or wedding favor!

These paper pouches can easily be stamped on. This one is the small size measuring 3x4, the large paper pouch is 5x6.

The Washi tape is used here to seal the bag closed. The clothespin and smoothie twine make it so cute!

The Washi tape was simply wrapped around the metal base of the tealight.

I also created some paper pouch valentines!

Again I just stamped directly on the pouch leaving a space for my Cricut Artiste mustache. {I "must ask" you?}

Then I slipped a piece of kraft cardstock inside stamped with a valentine message. I created a little frame with the chalkboard marker and stamped a polka dotted heart from the Whooo's Your Valentine kit. Add some yummy chocolate and you have a fun and unique valentine....no more store bought valentines!!!

Thanks for checking out my Open House, hope you were inspired! Come back anytime for more new items and art from my heart!

New Idea Book and more Open House Artwork

The new Spring 2013 Idea Book goes live today...hooray! I have some more artwork to share with you and of course you can browse the book for many more ideas and inspiration! Just click on the book in the right hand column to view it.

Some of the new items you will find in this book are~

~7 brand new paper collections
~7 workshop on the go's, canvas art kit and 2 cardmaking kits
~2 textile collections with 6 different fabric patterns
~brand new My Creations items; muslin draw string bags, clear treat tubes, clear pillow boxes, 6x6 display canvas, paper pouches and kraft containers.
~5x7 hinged display tray
~glitter paper
~new embellishments such as epoxy bubbles, glitter gems, fabric & acrylic flowers, pennants, pinwheels and fabric buttons {just to name a few}
~plus, many new MyAcrylix stamp sets and page after page of gorgeous artwork!

One of my favorite new paper's is the For Always collection. The black and white is so stunning and so versatile. I used one of the display trays at my Open House to show off these beautiful prints. I love that you can pop in color and change the look! {can you find the new fabric?}

I have yet to add some family photographs, but you can see that they will be nicely spread out between the decorated boxes. One big photo will go here.

I love the trend of chevron lately, it's so cool!

I pulled out some older stamp sets to complete my tray. They were perfect for my 'family at home' theme!

Look how gorgeous this new acrylic flower is! Paired with some velvet and lace against a floral background....ahhh, so pretty!

Would you believe that I still have more to show you from my Open House? Come on back to see it!
