May Cricut Club {an H2H challenge}

May Cricut Club and the Heart 2 Heart challenge this week are a perfect match! I am absolutely in love with this month's promotion "Dotty For You" paper kit. Last month we created a Dream Banner for our project and this month I've decided to use the Dotty papers again. We will be exploring another box that can be cut on the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge, the fry box! It will hold four cards that feature the lovely floral paper which happens to coordinate with the Card Word Puzzle stamp set, one of my favorites this season. I have also incorporated the fun Birthday sentiments from the Just a Number stamp set, also a favorite! This will be a great project to keep for yourself or give as a gift!

Each card with humorous sentiments inside~

Just a bit of glitter glitz finishes the flower perfectly~

Dotty Banners

Hello! I just wanted to share some pictures with you today from my Dotty Banner workshop yesterday. The ladies were a little nervous at first creating their banners, but soon realized how great these products were, especially the coordinating Dotty For You papers! They could mix and match the papers to any banner shapes they desired. I had a selection of various embellishments to choose from and they all decided on their own "phrase" or "title". Here are just a few examples~

The Dotty For You paper kit is available until the end of May. Be sure to get this kit, you'll be so glad you did!

Relax with some Faux Stitching

Hello and happy Monday to you all! I've got a great layout to share with you today. I've used the Dotty For You papers to create this layout, which is available to order tomorrow! The page on the left side is from the artwork inspiration insert that you will receive with this kit. On the insert it is indicated that the design is from the Magic how-to book. So I pulled the book from the shelf and looked at the design so I would be able to create a companion page. Funny thing is that the page in the insert is shown to be the right side of the layout. I just felt like it needed to be on the left though and switched them up. I also rotated the right page, because it looked better to me with the pattern of the Dotty paper.

I also wanted to incorporate some stitching on my page as that is the challenge on Heart 2 Heart Blog this week. I enjoy all types of stitching on my projects, but like to do Faux stitching more often. I figure that I'm not very good with my little sewing machine and by the time I get it out, set it up and thread my needle, I could have my pages faux stitched already!

To achieve this type of faux stitching, I started by stamping in Grey Wool with the Simple Stitches stamp set. When you get to a corner you can simply mask the edge with a post-it-note.

Once all the stamping is done, I lay a foam pad under my base page and poke holes along the stitched line with the piercing tool.

You can see here that the stamp I used already has little dots indicating where I would poke my hole. If you were working with a straight line you would want to use something like Close To My Hearts ruler with piercing holes in it to guide you.

A couple of years ago I did a wreath for my home that shows a couple more ways you can stitch your projects. You can see it here.

As always for even more inspiration, please visit the Heart 2 Heart Blog. If you have other clever ideas, share them with us at Heart 2 Heart and enter your artwork. You could be eligible for our monthly top 10!

Rock Star Party Pages

I recently saw this older paper used as a banner and thought how cool it looked with the colors. I also want to use up some of these older paper packs to make room for some new ones. How much fun are these party pages! This was a design from the Imagine book, however I changed it up a bit on the right page. I was also able to use up some of these overlays. They have itty bitty glue dots to secure them to the page, but will allow me to add photo's directly underneath them still.

Cricut Club Dream Banner

My Cricut Club this month will be creating this lovely Dream banner! We will be cutting our banner pieces and letters with the Art Philosophy cartridge. They will also be using an assortment of papers from this month's promotional kit "Dotty For You"!

As you can see this banner has tons of fun details. Customers attending this class will be personalizing their own banners however they wish. They can mix and match their papers and add a various amount of embellishments to their liking! How fun is that!!

For the little Peeps!

I wanted to use the Peeps stamp set for the treats to my nieces and nephews. So of course for my treat to them I chose boxes of marshmallow Peeps!

I began my project by random stamping the bunny peeps in coordinating colors on White Daisy cardstock.

I used Kraft cardstock to wrap the boxes then adhered my random stamped paper in the center.

To finish, I stamped the peeps on colored cardstock and added the sentiment on a banner. The bunny peep is attached with foam squares for a little added dimension.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Dotty Peeps

This cute card uses the Peeps stamp set again and some of the new Dotty papers! I matched the colors of the peeps with the actual marshmallow treats! I've also used the adhesive spring to give my card extra dimension. I am entering this card in the Ribbon Carousel Spring challenge this week. You will see that I have added some green twine to the bottom of the card and also used it to tie a knot in my button.
