Twist and Pop Halloween Cards

I love interactive or moving cards. They are fun to make and I think that the recipient enjoys the surprise within them! When I first saw a Twist and Pop card on Instagram, I wanted to give it a try!

I made a few of them recently with different Halloween themes. I enjoyed mixing old papers and stamps to make each one unique.

This one has some adorable little creatures and an unexpected, non~Halloween paper mix!

A Little Boo Ghost

After making some of the Cut Above Halloween Treat Bags, I discovered one little lonely ghost left over! I thought he would look perfect on the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week! I dressed up the ghost piece a bit, but I left the rest of the card clean and simple with some Scaredy Cat papers and doodling. Here is the card~

Scaredy Cat ~ Witch Hat

Have you seen the darling witch hats that were displayed in the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations book? (page 38) They were also featured on Jeanette Lynton's Blog, Make it from Your Heart,  with assembly instructions. I admired them all and thought I would give this project a try, and then....while on a shopping trip through the craft store, I saw some paper mache witch hats. I thought these would make a perfect base and cut out some extra steps. {Kind of like cheating!} I did incorporate several other ideas from the CTMH hats, including some Cricut cuts and the Scaredy Cat papers.

Frightfully Cute Mini Album

This little mini album created from the Artbooking cartridge is hardly frightful. It is so cute and fun for the Halloween Holiday!

 

I used the Scaredy Cat papers and coordinating cardstock. Most of the images and sentiments on this album are from this cute set~

I also used the Hopscotch alphabet for the "boo" on the cover and stamped a couple of candy corn from an older stamp set.

Halloween Characters!

Today I have the other card I made for the Fall/Halloween card exchange that did not make the final cut! It is still a super cute card with the most adorable characters on it and I really can't tell you why it was not my final card. I think that maybe it was just too predictable, I wanted to really mix things up more. I can also tell you that like the first card I showed you, this one has an image on it that I carried over to my final card!?!? OMG what can it be??

I used the Scaredy Cat paper collection, Frightfully Fun MyAcrylix stamp set, black epoxy stars and black striped twill ribbon. I stamped all the images in black ink and then used ShinHan Touch Twin markers on just the outline. It gives them just a bit more character and color!

Spooky Scrapbook Layout

Let's kick off this Spooky Spooktacular with a haunted house scrapbooking layout! For this simple layout I used some of the Scaredy Cat papers and embellishment assortment. The haunted house and "beware" title were cut on the Cricut with the Artbooking cartridge. Some inking and twill ribbon and this page is complete!

At a closer look you will see that I added some purple and orange cardstock behind the window openings. The final touch is just a bit of liquid glass to reflect and shine just like a window pane.  Yes, the house looks grainy, that's because I used some older textured black cardstock for interest!

The metal embellishments can be backed with textured paper or left alone. Don't you just love those enamel stars....I could just stick them on everything for Halloween!!

What a Hoot, Halloween Layout

It's almost the end of the month, which means that the Stamp of the Month will only be available for a few more days! I've used the What a Hoot stamp for Halloween cards and also some cards that can be used for any occasion. The owls are a nice large image so I wanted to use them on a layout.

I used the new Scaredy Cat papers and some cuts from my Artbooking Cricut cartridge. It is a nice clean layout that allows for just a few photo's to be the focus and of course those darling owls!
