Christmas Eve Kisses

All the Christmas cards have been sent, the gifts are wrapped under the tree and the cookies are all baked! I wanted to wrap up one last little treat for the kids. I found these cute Santa hat Hershey Kisses at Target. I bought a few packages as they are exclusive to Target and I had a hunch that they would sell out fast....and they did! I wanted to package them in a cute way so I started searching Pinterest. I found a Santa Sleigh that I considered, but then I saw these cute Santa hats. That was perfect, now to figure out how to make them. I studied the picture and started experimenting. Here is what the result was.

Each hat holds 5 kisses. The hat has a scalloped brim and a glittery pom~pom on the end. If you follow me on Instagram you will see how I further wrapped these up with some green ribbon and a polka dot tag.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you have a happy Christmas Eve filled with something sweet!

Christmas Frames

I was inspired by some framed art posted on Close To My Heart's Facebook page. It was such a simple frame with a beautiful message for this Season! I decided to make frames for my family members at our recent gathering. There was a total of 6 frames, but 3 different designs. This way no one received a frame that was like anyone else!

All of the art was stamped using the Reason for the Season stamp set. This frame in walnut had some older Pear & Partridge paper in olive green with a hint of cranberry red card stock.

Here I used a black frame for those with homes decorated in darker tones. I loved the dark blue and grey color scheme with it!

Finally, I used the walnut frame again with some red Free to be Me paper and darker cocoa card stock.

You will also notice that some of the frames featured the wise men and the others showed the nativity scene.

These frames make a great homemade gift with very little materials needed and can be done with just a little bit of your time. To me it was worth it to create a gift from my heart to those I love and cherish all year long!

Holiday Gift Bags

When you have a small gift to give this season, don't just throw it in a boring box! Wrap it up in a super cute gift bag and adorn it with a darling tag!

The new Season's Tweetings gift bags from the Holiday's from the Heart Gift Guide are perfect! You can purchase the bags (6) separately or you can get them in a kit which includes a stamp set and tags. I chose to only purchase the bags and cut my own tags and use some of the many Christmas stamp sets I already have. I also threw in a strip of the new Party Washi wood grain tape.

Christmas Gift Revealed

I created some handmade goods for my sister for Christmas. Now that Christmas is over and she has opened her gifts, I can share my creations with you. I made some paper crafts for her like a 3D snowflake ornament, set of cards and a scrapbook page, which she plans to add to a scrapbook I made for her a couple years ago. I'm happy to make these for her since she is not a "papercrafter", in fact she is a quilter. That's what inspired me to make these spool ornaments. I thought how cute they would be on her Christmas tree.

I found the little wooden spools at Michaels along with the toille paper. I wrapped the paper around the center then sealed them with some mod podge. The twine and beads were a bit tricky, but after some trial and error, and some hot glue I figured it out!

I will have to share what she made for me later! I simply emailed her a photo of something I was interested in and she made it. I love that we can share our different talents with one another! A homemade Christmas, my favorite!

Jars of Candy?

With a little inspiration from Pinterest I came up with a clever way to give gift cards this year! I filled some canning jars with the recipients favorite candy. Concealed in the middle of the candy was a little baggie holding a gift card. At first the recipient thought they were only getting a jar of candy which made it entertaining! They were pleasantly surprised when they discovered the card inside!

You will recognize the snowmen 3D tags from this previous post here. On the back I stamped who they were to and from and I included the year so that the tag could be used as a tree ornament.

Christmas Treat Tubes

The darling little treat tubes found in the current Whooo's Your Valentine Kit are not just for Valentines Day! I made some for Christmas filled with some peppermint candies. The base boxes are stamped with blue snowflakes and candy canes. They are finished with some twine and tags.

{The little tag says "No Peeking!" Ha... it's a see through tube....that's funny!}

My Annual Album

Every year we do a gift exchange in my Husband's family. This is the second year I did an annual album as my gift. The sister-in-law that received it this year has a young daughter at home still and this January will have a total of 3 grandchildren, so she will get plenty of use from this album!

This is how I wrapped my gifts this year. I used the Remarkable Wreath stamp on the tag. It was tied on to sheer ribbon with scraps of ribbon and a big jingle bell I got on clearance last year. This was a great way to keep the kids wondering what was in the boxes. When they would "shake" the boxes all they could hear was a jingle bell! Ha, Ha!

The faux leather album contained a two page layout for each month.

Home Made From the Heart

A few years ago I met a group of ladies from my church. Our children are close in age and we quickly found that we all had a passion for cooking. We started getting together at each others homes to cook and let the kids hang out. We always have a feast to eat and several stories and laughs are shared.

We had our Christmas get together last weekend and as usual had more than enough food to eat. Thank goodness our "guys" like to eat too! I wanted to give them something special for Christmas. Here is what they received.

My little tag cards with this darling snowman matched perfectly with the gift bag.

The tag swings open to reveal the greeting.

M&M cookies in a jar look so festive! It looks as if the M&M's are packed in snow!

The Holiday Fudge bars was an idea from a friend and the Close To My Heart consultant that I signed up under. The poem is to the tune of Jingle Bells.

I fell in love with chocolate popcorn when I discovered it at a little novelty shop. When we moved I had to figure out how to make it myself. The red and green M&M's and colored chocolate make it perfect for Christmas. It's awfully hard to eat just plain buttered popcorn now!

Yummy!

And of course I must include some paper craft items. I made some Holiday Cap Magnets using some old bottle caps and the Believe papers.

I adore these gals, they have really become a part of my life. I hope they enjoy all their goodies and can't wait for the next get~together. I wonder what we'll eat...chicken curry, pea soup, tamales, lumpia, tiramisu.....?
